After a break I returned to developing my physics game. This time I'll push straight to release.

Destructible environments are the best.

It's a shame it doesn't sample the existing material when creating new pixels.

It will be improved, I mostly cared about the physics rather than rendering.

Gives me a more in-depth Cortex Command vibe. Love how the dirt starts to settle and retexture back to normal.

"What kind of game you plan on making?" "Oh just throwing stuff on the wall and see what sticks" "Isn´t that inefficient? Will you ever finish the game?" "I am fine"

Very interesting... I know you are just making a 2D game, but if you somehow need a plan B, making it 3D and selling licenses to companies using Electrical Resistivity Tomography/Vertical Electrical Sounding probably is an option

Your stuff is really neat. What methods you use for the physics?

Lennard-Jones potential is the core interaction between particles. Then plenty of other quite obvious things, like interaction between polygons. Some springs, some texture based matter. In general it's a collection of interacting subsystems, each is on the simple side.

Oh so is Lennard-Jones function used to lookup force between pairs of particles, then update their positions?

Zolden profil fotoğrafı
Zolden1 ay önce

Correct, but forces update velocities, then velocities affect position, a simple Euler scheme

Thanks. I'm experimenting with different gameplays, not sure yet.
