After about an hour of Marathon and getting past the tutorial, completing my first faction objective to level up, died once in a run and successfully extracted in another, I get the excitement of going back for another run… I love the artstyle and gameplay so far.

When I made the run yesterday I knew the finish was going to happen. For me the run is where I feel comfortable and in my place. I made up around 30+ places with a 2:43 marathon even in some brutal windy conditions. I just kept thinking I’d made it and that gave me strength.

We took the Cybertruck to pick up mulch and other landscaping supplies to finish the front yard. It was supposed to be a quick 15 minutes in and out. This couple was so interested in the truck that my wife and I walked up at the end of the video and started talking Tesla! We showed them everything about the truck that we could. While that was happening, another older lady walked up and asked if we could show her the truck too. So my wife finished with the first couple, and I started the tutorial all over again. Needless to say, after an hour had passed, we finally finished and were able to FSD home! 🏡

I was cycling down a busy cycle path in Stratford this evening when a tiny movement on the pavement caught my eye. I stopped & came face to face with the first newt I’ve ever seen in London! Bikes were wizzing back & forth dangerously close, so I escorted the newt across the path & set off again. I then immediately saw another newt crossing & in danger of being run over, so put my bike in the way of the traffic to escort that one over too. Realising that this might be a newt crossing place in the breeding season, I searched for more along the path. I found one sadly squashed to death, & another curled up in the middle of the path not moving- I carried it to the nearby pond where it luckily revived. I stayed for over an hour & helped 7 newts cross over in total. It was so fascinating to see these enigmatic creatures up close, & an honour to help them to help them go about their newty business in safety. #teamnewt

The past year has seen me have a renaissance, in the truest sense… I won’t go into details now but will at some point before long. What has brought so much happiness to my life and those around me this past year has been my falling back in love with sport. Cycling has, and always will be, my number one. Yet I’d forgotten that I simply love sport, not for results but for the sheer joy of doing it, I’d completely forgotten that the health of my mind is intrinsically connected to the health of my body. I’ve rediscovered the love I had for sport that existed before the world of professional cycling took over in the way it did. I’ve been pushing myself and trying new things this past year, indifferent to the results, just out having fun and at times going deeper than I thought I was capable of anymore. Last week I got on a TT bike for the first time in a decade, Factor Bikes built me a bike, I’ve been looking at it for two years and decided it was time to get fitted, getting back on it felt like going home. Anyway, the long and the short of this is that it’s inspired me to create a club to inspire and be inspired. A community for us to share our love for getting out there and doing it, because I’ve realized that although I spend most of my sporting life on my own I derive the most pleasure when feeling part of something. It’s in its early days, I’ve called it Sporting Club CHPT3 aka SCC3, I’d love you to check it out and join. It’s still in its infancy, but I hope it’s going to grow into something that will inspire you as much as me.
