I'm excited to announce we have achieved our Tier 1 mission success criteria and have begun gathering a tremendous amount of data on how this brand new spacecraft performs. On March 30th, 13:17:08Z, the Gravitas spacecraft separated from the SpaceX Transporter-16 stack to begin its mission as one of the highest power free-flying satellites ever launched. Immediately after separation, the spacecraft autonomously: - Executed detumbling maneuvers - Established two-way communications with the ground (on our very first ground station pass) - Deployed its 20kW solar arrays - Slewed to a safe and stable attitude to await further ground commands These actions alone are a testament to the incredible work of our in-house engineering, software, and GNC teams to build a robust spacecraft. Since then, our operations team completed all initial system activations and checkouts, confirming the vehicle is in a power positive and thermally stable state with no major anomalies observed at this time. We completed this phase of the mission ahead of schedule. Next up we will be powering up and downlinking data for all payloads aboard the Gravitas spacecraft in support of our customers and partners while continuing to put the spacecraft through its paces. As we noted ahead of launch: The goal of this mission is to experiment and push our systems to the limit to inform future missions. Mission success for VICTUS HAZE! 🚀🎯 We’ve officially completed the United States Space Force Space Systems Command primary mission which saw Rocket Lab build a high performance spacecraft, deliver rapid call-up launch on Electron, and conduct complex on-orbit rendezvous and proximity operations - all ahead of schedule. ⏱️ Launch: Lifted off with just 16h 42m notice - the fastest response ever for a TacRS mission (beating previous record by 10 hours). 🛰️ Commissioning: Activated our Pioneer spacecraft in 38 hours (30 hours ahead of deadline). 📸 RPO Operations: Tracked, approached, and photographed the target satellite in under 59 hours (25 hours ahead of deadline).

Literally shaking! Behind the scenes of a special test 🚀 Earlier this year, Redshift, our third stage, completed a full vibration test campaign in flight configuration! Unlike isolated component checks, this was the real deal: all systems integrated and tested under simulated launch conditions. Because launch is no gentle ride. Everything must endure intense vibrations and still perform flawlessly. The result? Electronic connections remained strong, the systems (including antennas, telemetry, flight computer, navigation systems) stayed up and running, and we obtained valuable data to further refine and improve. Our Mars Telecommunications Orbiter, based on our existing Blue Ring vehicle, meets the urgent need for communications, navigation, and relay while also flying up to 500 kg of science instruments to Mars. With this capacity, we can deploy two ESCAPADE-class spacecraft from our orbiter or 10+ CubeSats and still host onboard instruments like a comprehensive science package to monitor the Martian atmosphere’s interaction with the solar wind.
