![More revelations are coming out about Jim Goad, including the revelation that the criticism people leveled at him online---including myself---may have played a role in the crushing depression that led him to take his own life. In his podcast yesterday memorializing Goad, Gavin McInnes states that he believes Goad's 2024 debate with Owen Benjamin broke Goad mentally. Not only is he visibly tired and flustered during the debate, Benjamin accused Goad of abandoning his severely autistic son. According to McInnes, after the debate, Goad told McInnes, "He's right. I did abandon my son." Apparently this was the first time Goad ever conceded that one of his critics was right about him. McInnes---a close friend of Goad's---also claims "in many ways, he was already dead. Last time I spoke to him, I had solutions to his problems, but he wasn't interested." I was the one who discovered what Goad did to his son all the way back in 2018; around the time of the infamous Luke Ford stream (where me, Nick Fuentes, Baked Alaska, and a bunch of others clowned on Goad for hours), a local Atlanta TV station ran a story about how Goad's then ten-year-old son had formed a bond with a local Santa. Goad had split up with his wife Shannon some years before, admitting in one of his podcasts that he was the one who filed for divorce. Goad was so angered by this expose that he recorded and published a phone call with his ex-wife where he refuted the idea that he was a "deadbeat dad." Nobody accused him of being a deadbeat. He was accused of abandoning his disabled son to be raised in a broken home. Goad's self-image of a dedicated truth-telling emotionally unaffected loner and his critics being jilted fans was a carefully constructed lie. He was extremely sensitive to criticism and carefully curated his online image. This included trying to deplatform his critics (as he tried to do to me; in addition to false-flagging my YouTube channel, he successfully got me banned from Medium and may have gotten my website taken down in 2019 through false reports to my webhost), viciously attacking anyone who criticized him even mildly, no matter how obscure they were (as Andy Nowicki reveals in a recent video), and manipulating others into defending him publicly. If you ever got into an online argument with Jim Goad and he felt like he was losing (aka every argument), you'd immediately get dogpiled by a bunch of his friends and exes backing him up. Goad even severed relationships with people he felt were insufficiently willing to defend his honor. For years, he bragged that my ex Ann Sterzinger was going to write a tell-all book about me that would completely destroy my reputation, most recently in a 2022 podcast with Greg Johnson (I believe he ALSO brought it up in an 2023 interview with Ethan Ralph, but don't quote me on that). Sterzinger confessed in private messages that Goad pushed her to write the book to "save his reputation" and became violently angry with her when she never finished it. She also denounced him as a narcissist following the end of their friendship, accused him of lying, said he would complain about "how the fame he pretends he never really wanted never really came his way," and claimed that in 2018, he manipulated her into "pretend[ing] to be OK after being raped" so he could use her as a weapon in his upcoming "debate" with me. Sterzinger also admits that Goad would privately shit-talk his supposed "friends," claiming he shit-talked Gavin McInnes to her and shit-talked her to McInnes. This is corroborated by emails I exchanged with Goad's former friend/co-host Keith Lee. Keith also stated back in 2018 that Goad was "losing control" due to his inability to curate how he was perceived online. Does any of this diminish Goad's influence as a writer? No. But the reality that he lied about himself and others constantly and sought to destroy anyone who criticized him was a consistent feature of his personality. The fact that me and others may have played a role in his depression and suicide makes me feel terrible, even if I was justified in attacking him for what he tried to do to me. I discussed this with a friend and he hypothesized that as Goad's health worsened, it stripped him of his usual coping mechanisms and forced him to confront his personal traumas and lifelong abusive behavior, and he simply couldn't cope. The real bomb in his brain was not his tumor, but his guilt. In May 2014, the Obama/Biden White House was scrambling to deflect questions related to Hunter Bidenโs new gig as a board member at Burisma, the compromised Ukrainian energy conglomerate; the news came just a few weeks after Vice President Joe Biden visited Kiev and promised Ukrainian leaders that the U.S. was โready to assistโ the countryโs efforts to accelerate natural gas exploration. (At the time, Burisma was Ukraine's biggest natural gas producer.) The day after Burisma issued a public statement boasting about their latest hire, White House press secretary Jay Carney ducked questions about the younger Biden during a May 13, 2014 briefing: Reporter: On another subject, Hunter Biden has now taken a position with the largest oil and gas company--holding company in Ukraine. Is there any concern about at least the appearance of a conflict there--for the Vice Presidentโs son to take a- Carney: I would refer you to the Vice Presidentโs office. I saw those reports. Hunter Biden and other members of the Biden family are obviously private citizens and where they work does not reflect an endorsement by the administration or by the Vice President or President. But I would refer you to the Vice Presidentโs office. Kendra Barkoff, a Biden spokeswoman, offered the same talking points in a terse statement to the media. โHunter Biden is a private citizen and a lawyer. The vice president does not endorse any particular company and has no involvement with this company." During a State Department briefing later that day, Jen Psaki smirked away one question about the vice president's son, insisting it was of no concern to the agency. Nevertheless, major news outlets here and around the world continued to raise the improper, if not brazenly pay-to-play, nature of the arrangement. โVice President Joe Biden's youngest son Hunter Biden has joined the board of directors of Ukraine's largest oil company at a time that the U.S. is urging Ukraine to develop energy independence from Russia and just days after the vice president visited Ukraine,โ ABC News reported in May 2014, noting the fortuitous timing of the announcement. โThe appointment of the vice president's son to a Ukrainian oil board looks nepotistic at best, nefarious at worst,โ Adam Taylor, Washington Post foreign affairs reporter, surmised in a May 14, 2014 article. โNo matter how qualified Biden is, it ties into the idea that U.S. foreign policy is self-interested. [You] have to wonder how big the salary has to be to put U.S. soft power at risk like this.โ And despite Psakiโs spin, State Department officials soon after expressed concern about the โperception of a conflict of interest,โ even taking those concerns to Vice President Joe Bidenโs office in early 2015. But one person in official Washington seemed uninterested in the shady deal between a corrupt international gas company operating in a notoriously unstable country and Americaโs most troubled nepo-baby: Jack Smith. Smithโappointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland last year to take over DOJs dual investigations into Donald Trump for alleged mishandling of classified documents and the events of January 6โwas named chief of the Department of Justiceโs Public Integrity Section, or PIN, in August 2010. Operating within the criminal division, PIN maintains broad purview over public corruption investigations on the federal, state, and local level including cases tied to โa government officialโฆor someone associated with such an official,โ according to the officeโs annual report. Smith held that powerful position until February 2015โmeaning Hunter Bidenโs years-long board position with Burisma ultimately resulting in a $4 million windfall for the vice presidentโs son began right under Jack Smithโs nose. This is certainly contrary to what the public has been told about Jack Smith. The news media, โlegal expertsโ in particular, insist Jack Smith is a no-nonsense federal prosecutor with unmatched integrity and devotion to the rule of law. Smith, according to his former DOJ colleague Andrew Weissmann, is a โconsummate professionalโ and a โskilled and fast prosecutor who does not let the grass grow under his feet." So, what happened? How did the keen-eyed, apolitical Smith and his 30-plus lawyers miss what was happening just blocks from their DOJ offices? Perhaps Smith truly bought Burismaโs spin that the company selected Hunter based on his โexpertiseโ in foreign policy and the law. Or perhaps Smith believed Hunter Biden when he said he would consult Burisma on matters relating to โtransparency, corporate governance, and responsibility.โ ๐ Maybe Smith was too busy prosecuting Republican governor Bob McDonnell and his wife at the timeโa case later overturned by the Supreme Courtโthat he missed the international headlines of how a British government agency had seized $23 million in assets belonging to Burismaโs owner amid suspicions of money laundering the very same month Hunter was appointed to the board. Maybe Smith was just a tender heart who thought Hunter quickly turned over a new leaf. After all, Hunter had been discharged from the Naval reserves just three months before the Burisma appointment was announced. Hunterโs misadventures were among the worst kept secrets in Washington but maybe Smith was still reeling from his unsuccessful prosecution of former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards to pay attention to Biden family gossip. And it wasnโt just the Burisma gig that somehow evaded Smithโs attention; Hunter made his overseas business dealings well known. He, along with fellow nepo-baby Christopher Heinz, stepson of then-Senator John Kerry, launched Rosemont Seneca in 2009. โOver the next seven years, as both Joe Biden and John Kerry negotiated sensitive and high-stakes deals with foreign governments, Rosemont entities secured a series of exclusive deals often with those same foreign governments,โ investigative reporter Peter Schweizer wrote in his 2018 book. (Schweizer also noted that the private-equity firm did not open an office in New York City, the financial capital of the world, but in Washington, D.C., โjust two miles from both Joe Bidenโs office in the White House and his residence at the Naval Observatory.โ) Multiple deals were cut as Smith led the governmentโs most powerful โpublic corruptionโ unit. And some of the most lucrative arrangements were with Chinese businesses tied to the Chinese Communist Party, partnerships that just happened to coincide with Hunterโs trips to China with his father. โ[The 2013 trip to China] was a triumph for Hunter, who walked away with his first big deal in Chinaโthe Bohai Harvest Rosemont investment partnership,โ Miranda Devine wrote in her 2021 book, โLaptop From Hell.โ Devine explained the deal was consummated on December 16, 2013, โtwelve days after he flew into Beijing on Air Force Two. Hunter officially became a shareholder and member of the BHR board.โ Smith probably missed the July 2014 article in the Wall Street Journal touting the private equity partnership with the vice presidentโs son aimed at enriching the CCP. โThe funds are raising a combination of yuan and U.S. dollars. The effort is the latest example [of] private equity pushing boundaries in an area that China hopes will help drive the country's economic transformation.โ Now, perhaps there was nothing untoward about Hunter Bidenโs sudden interest and success at global private equity. But surely the use of Air Force Two to conduct personal businessโHunter accompanied his father on 70 overseas trips including six trips to China on Smithโs watchโshould have caught someoneโs attention at DOJs โpublic integrityโ unit, no? The answer, of course, is no. Was Smith asleep at the switch or intentionally ignorant or once again doing the dirty work of the Democratic Party? Smith have put a stop to the Biden family international shakedown nearly a decade ago--why didn't he? At what risk did he put the country by turning a blind eye to this egregious level of influence peddling in nations hostile to American interests? As Smith eagerly prepares to sign his name to another criminal indictment against Donald Trump for the events of January 6, Hunter Bidenโs plea deal with Smithโs employer is falling apart along with further confirmation of how the younger Biden hauled in millions from countries such as China and Ukraine by leveraging his last name to support himself, his addictions, and his familyโincluding, quite possibly, his father as well. All of this could have been halted in its tracks long ago.
