🚨Mayor Wilson double downs Tuesday and rejects claim her staff delayed Sunday briefing for ‘dignitaries’ yet falls flat on reasoning, still evades on who made the decision Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson on Tuesday again denied that anyone in her office blocked the Seattle Police Department from holding an immediate news conference Sunday night after the gang-related mass shooting at the Bite of Seattle festival. A reporter confronted Wilson with new information that between 7:45 and 8 p.m., alleging that someone from the mayor’s office told SPD leadership they could not proceed with a press conference that police wanted to hold right away, citing the arrival of “dignitaries.” “That is not my understanding, no,” Wilson said. Mayor Wilson told reporters Tuesday that there was extensive back-and-forth among her office, police and state and federal elected officials as they coordinated a response. Wilson said authorities were conducting an active search for suspects at Seattle Center and that she was told it would not be helpful for her or other elected officials to arrive at the scene during that time. “We went back and forth and eventually landed on an appropriate time to address the press and to share information,” she said. “That is my understanding.” Pressed further on whether her office issued any order that effectively prevented police from speaking sooner, Wilson referred reporters to her earlier answer. This woman pulled up to her local Popeyes chicken, right before she was about to order, a homeless man approached her and asked her to please buy him some food. She agreed to do so and the workers refused to take the order once she told them what she was doing. She then asked for a manager and she was upset about being recorded and refused to talk to her and walked away. Do you think the homeless man harasses the customers and workers and that’s why they won’t take his order?

I’m not even sure I should post this, but a friend told me about a wedding she went to last weekend. During the couple’s dance, the groom’s ex showed up in a wedding gown and tried to disrupt things. What stood out was how calm the bride was. Maybe she already knew about crazy ex. Apparently no one confronted her or dragged her out. Everyone just ignored her and continued the ceremony. After she finished her display, she got tired and left on her own. These things really happen in real life, and most don’t even make it online.

The mom immediately started squawking at her to get out, and when she stepped outside, the father was right there staring at her from behind a tree. “YOU KEEP FOLLOWING ME, IT’S WEIRD!” A teenage girl has shared a video after being followed and harassed by a man while walking home. She says the man began staring at her before following her, invading her personal space and asking personal questions. After she told him she was a minor and threatened to call police, he eventually walked away but moments later reportedly returned on a bike and tried to catch up with her. The girl says she sprinted home terrified and is urging others to call police immediately if they ever feel unsafe in a similar situation. She doesn’t include where this took place, presumably for her own safety. Our girls should not have to live this way.

NEW: Seattle's Lewis Park is a crime magnet and drug hell hole. Late Saturday evening, a dad reached out to me and said he was looking for his daughter named "Candace." For privacy reasons, I am not putting out her photo. At least for now. But I was told she was last seen with drug addicts in this Beacon Hill park. So I decided to go in and look. NEW: Seattle's Lewis Park is a crime magnet and drug hell hole. Late Saturday evening, a dad reached out to me and said he was looking for his daughter named "Candace." For privacy reasons, I am not putting out her photo. At least for now. But I was told she was last seen with drug addicts in this Beacon Hill park. So I decided to go in and look.
