For those doctors who get seats just by scoring 270 marks out of 720 in NEET and negative marks in PG NEET and get government colleges. Pay attention to how much you earn just after completing MBBS and the MS or MD at the age of 23 years and 27 years. And after the government spends ₹50 to ₹60 lakh subsidising your education and training, you move to the US or UK for higher earnings, while blaming the very country, Bharat, that educated you and gave you the clinical skills you now use to build your career abroad. What a crying shame.

This year, there were around 30,000 doctors applying for 10,000 speciality training places. That means thousands of capable doctors ready to serve the public and the NHS are being turned away. Every rejected doctor is a lost opportunity to cut waiting lists, staff wards safely and bring the NHS back from crisis. And Wes Streeting’s response? Just 2,000 extra speciality training places over 3 years. That will not fix the doctor unemployment crisis in England. Tens of thousands of resident doctors in England stood up for our profession today, and I’m proud to be part of such a strong and united workforce. 83% of resident doctors voted NO to Wes Streeting’s offer, and I was one of them. After months to come back with something credible, what we were given was a rushed, last-minute deal that failed to fix the unemployment crisis and did nothing to move us closer to pay restoration. Instead, doctors are now being asked to take on a real-terms pay cut next year. Wes Streeting says he wants to build bridges, yet spends his time calling doctors “juvenile delinquents” and “moaning minnies”. So my message to Wes Streeting is this: stop the gaslighting. You have had months to produce something actually credible. Bring a serious offer on jobs and pay to the table. We are not going away. You will not split doctors from our union - we *are* the BMA. As you said in opposition, the power to stop these strikes lies squarely with the Government. Time to start acting like it.

Yet at the very same time, the NHS is turning away around 13 fully qualified doctors for every single A&E training job. The reason is simple.
