Gavin Newsom had no problem deploying 1,000 National Guard members to the California State Capitol in 2021, just in case there was an "insurrection" in Sacramento. When the National Guard is actually needed is when Newsom becomes opposed to using it.

FLASHBACK: Gavin Newsom had no problem using the National Guard as a prop for some political theater. Remember this? January 14, 2021. Newsom announces he is deploying 1,000 National Guard members to help the California Highway Patrol protect the CA State Capitol from "insurrectionists" during the week leading up to Biden's inauguration. "Let me be clear. There will be no tolerance for violence." Newsom is now suing Trump for using the National Guard to protect CA from actual violence and real threats.

Here's Gavin Newsom in June of 2024 telling Republicans to stop playing politics and to send some National Guard to California to help with the border. It was election time so it was time to pretend to be for law and order. Today Newsom announced that he is suing Trump because the President sent the National Guard to California to help with riot control.
