This formidable russian 240-mm self-propelled mortar, the 2S4, was named "Tulip" by its developers, not necessarily because when it explodes, it looks like this bright flower. But soldiers of the 45th Artillery Brigade appreciate that which is beautiful. Here's a bouquet from them to you.

🔴🇬🇧 UK ARTILLERY UPGRADE: 72 RCH 155 HOWITZERS ORDERED The UK Royal Artillery is set to receive 72 RCH 155 self propelled howitzers in a nearly £1 billion deal, marking a major boost to Britain’s long range firepower. The advanced system can fire up to 8 rounds per minute and strike targets at ranges of up to 70 km, while operating with high mobility and reduced crew requirements. The move comes after the UK transferred older artillery systems to Ukraine, creating a capability gap now being rapidly replaced with next generation fire support. Source: UK Ministry of Defence

The situation in northern Ethiopia 🇪🇹 is rapidly worsening, with ENDF mobilizing massive reinforcements to Tigray, while Amhara Fano soldiers are taking over their region. 2 weeks after fighting erupted between federal forces and TPLF/TDF in Tigray, the Ethiopian government is in the process of mobilizing thousands of soldiers in the north. Abiy Ahmed has been preparing for war with Tigray and Eritrea for months, while part of his army is stuck fighting in the vast Amhara region, as you can see on the map (from Thomas van Linge). We recently learned about additional regional implications, with Ethiopia hosting a Rapid Support Forces base, while Sudan is training and hosting TPLF forces in Qadarif state and Somali rebels in Somalia. In northern Ethiopia, a climate of war is settling, with both TPLF, Eritrea and ENDF mobilizing their forces. At the same time, ENDF are leaving large areas of Amhara regions, which are rapidly falling into AFNM control. The Amhara Fano forces do not control any city yet but are threatening the main garrisons in the region, while a war in the north could allow them to walk on Addis Abeba.

🇺🇦 Ukraine will no longer purchase morally obsolete M107-type 155 mm artillery shells with a range of 18 km (including domestically produced ones) and will instead prioritize modern, extended-range ERFB (Extended Range Full Bore) 155 mm artillery shells with a range of 38 km. 🔻 The information is reported by Defence Express, citing statements from representatives of the Ukrainian company “Ukrainian Armored Vehicles”. The company itself is capable of producing up to 100,000 such 155 mm artillery shells per year using its own capacities. 🔻 In the photo: ERFB-type 155 mm artillery shell. This decision marks an important step in increasing the effectiveness of Ukrainian artillery by shifting focus to longer-range munitions. Domestic production at this scale will significantly enhance Ukraine’s ability to strike deeper into enemy positions while reducing logistical pressure.

ARTILLARY is still the biggest asset of Destruction in the SMO ... Russians are masters of the Art of WAR ! Artillerymen destroyed the enemy targets Artillery crews of 152-mm Msta-S self-propelled howitzers and Msta-B towed howitzers hit enemy manpower and equipment, as well as militants’ strongholds camouflaged in dense forest. Shooting was carried out from closed and open firing positions with high-explosive fragmentation shells at a distance of more than 20 km. Particular attention was paid to counter-battery combat, during which self-propelled howitzers traveled to open areas and fired a series of shots at enemy military targets, forcing him to return fire. Then the combat vehicles quickly changed their position, and at this time, the crews of towed howitzers struck from closed firing positions at the artillery mounts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that opened fire.
