It exposes how deeply democratic values have eroded under an ineffective administration. Targeting a sitting Member of Parliament and a representative of the opposition with eggs, bricks, and other projectiles is unacceptable in any democratic society. His security had already been reduced, making this incident even more alarming. A government that fails to ensure the safety of elected representatives cannot claim to be upholding democratic principles or maintaining public order.
