Spot on from Romesh, there is something quite surreal about a football dad whose son plays in the bottom division of local Sunday league (probably the worst standard of footy in country) ranting and raving about the lack of ‘quality and commitment’ from the players. And telling the manager how ‘tactically naive’ he is. The ridiculous thing is that that dad’s constant shouting and giving instructions (completely confusing the poor kids who have been told 5 different things from other dads and the manager) is noncense- they are always clueless. It is getting so bad we would like to see football treated like other sports - drop your kids off go and sit down somewhere and let them play. As he says just relax- your kids not going to make it no matter how much you scream and shout!

@LMSTORESPREMIER 100% for this. Parents telling kids what to do, over communication, then getting angry with refs, opposing managers getting grumpy cos they’re losing and parents telling coaches where they should and shouldn’t play their children and this is just U7s. 😂

Now in my 2nd season as a coach, now under 9’s, I have to say the parents have been fantastic and I hope it stays that way

Totally agree. Same parents who keep posting crap on the WhatsApp group. ‘Is training still on?’ It’s always bloody on unless we’re told otherwise!

I put a complete ban on any side line Parental interference. They could encourage, as you do when “Go on, well done” but that was it. Under no circumstances could they instruct any players from the sidelines.

Yep 100% this same goes for some volunteers also chill out your not pep and it’s not premier league 😂

So spot on…. Imagine going to football on a Sunday morning and digging kids out, fighting with other parents etc It’s like the Wild West at times! Real shame as the kids playing kids football won’t last forever. Cherish it and don’t embarrass yourself 🥳

Absolutely agree…in my experience there will be one team in each age group where the aim is to poach all of the best (in their opinion) players from other sides, the parents are aggressively adamant little Jonnie is going to play in the Prem and who argue and complain.

Agreed. My set of parents are a lovely chilled out bunch though.

On the money!!!
