Absolutely! The only reason I COULD think of for not wanting to know is if the obscurity of the sample adds a sense of mystery. But personally I'd still be curious to know the origin and I don't think it takes anything away from the listening experience to learn more.

I was just using samples as an example (Bars 😂) and metaphorically for wanting to learn more about the history of anything but yeah I get where you coming from about the samples.

Facts but the problem is the younger generation doesn’t carry about the history 💯

Facts! Which is why I miss the cassette tape and cd era in music.....those liner notes were gold to me! Made me appreciate other genres/artists even more. And it gave me more appreciation to the Producer/DJ on how they flipped it! Respect! 👊🔦

Absolutely agree with this . That’s actually how I found a lot of songs I love today. I would look at album credits, find the sample and listen to the full song.
