Remember them well. Always wanted one as a kid. Had a little battery powered toy version back then. Slightly bigger than a Matchbox car. Looked something like this.

I worked on a couple ... Nightmare ... Some part Chevy, some part Chrysler, some part Ford...And AMC... Just like a Dodge need to know the date it came down the assembly line. Parts made in France..Spain.. Canada... A Body man/ Mechanic Nightmare...

I remember the AMC Eagle. I thought they were cool and would’ve liked to have one.

Dana 30 & 44 diffs, bulletproof for that weight of vehicle. Even had a convertible.

My Dad had one in Tan. Was like a Willys with heat and comfortable seats LOL

I had that exact vehicle. Good memories Awesome vehicle except for one thing, the carburetor. You could never find the right tuning for that carburetor.

AMC got 17 years out of the same basic body tooling there, these originated as the Hornet and Gremlin in 1970

They were in concept good but execution was spotty. I drove one as a kid working for an exterminator.

Owned one, great little car.

Because of such innovative cars like the Pacer, people were very reluctant to buy anything from AMC.

You mean the Sale on Windows?

I was trying to be kind. But the Pacer was undoubtedly the biggest piece of crap ever built. My mom had one. She would drive it a week and then pit it back in the shop.

My sister had one, great car until it burnt in her driveway. But it was good in the snow.

Well, it could have been worse. At least it burned where she had shelter and a phone!

There was a short period of my life where I worked 3 jobs, one of them a security job. Drove one as my assigned vehicle for roaming the property. Never got it offroad, wasn't needed, but it was a decent car otherwise.

I have 2 wagons took one over cinnamon pass a few years back I need to get one running but to many other projects

My cousin has two my uncle have him. They both live in Montana. Love those things.

My parents had a 4 door sedan version and it was quite capable off road here in NEPA. They just didn’t know. lol

The heater cores was junk and you would have to pull the dash to fix them

My parents owned one. I agree 100%,it was well before it's time.

I remember those !

the rivian r3 might be my first ev

They were not that great. The four wheel system wasnt that reliable. At least the few I rode in weren't very good.

I car pooled in one to a jobsite at 8000'elev in Utah. Lots of snow and it never got us stuck and stranded. 83

I remember seeing a few of these on the road when I was a kid. My dad said they look like shit , but they were probably handy as hell🤣 looking at them now , they actually look kinda cool.

Weren't "rare". Were all over creation.

@SCchumer That looks fun as hell!

Sigh. I had one …. AMC eagle sport.

My buddy’s Mom had one back in the 80’s.. Cool cars but kinda “lemony” when it came to reliability.. Probably worth big dough today…

About 3x what they originally sold for.

Drove one first year of their existence, liked it ..... got in my power wagon and drove off

I have an affinity for modified/stock lifted rally cars.

We had a silver one when I was a kid.

It's too bad they didn't get more love... now enthusiasts can't obtain one without rebuilding a cancer carcass or overpaying for a shining example.

On the upside, the butch lesbians that Subaru caters to, would never buy the AMC.

Grandma had one. Thought it was a piece of crap back then, but now would love to have it

Gotta wonder how many were destroyed during that disastrous “cash for clunkers” program. They destroyed a lot of the old cars people wish they had now. 🤔😔

Had an '81 Kammback and an '83 Wagon. For the time you couldn't beat it...
