The average person will soon be as capable as what a senior software engineer is today, as we shift from doing the work to directing it. Instead of coding line by line, you’ll run multiple agents in parallel, building the frontend, refactoring the database, shipping features, all in the background. On top of that, you’ll have a clean interface to design and interact with AI more creatively. The SaaSpocalypse narrative is starting to make less and less sense. Software companies like $PLTR, $NOW, and $CRM are getting punished because investors believe AI will replace SaaS. Jensen Huang disagrees. “Claude can write software.” That’s true. But Jensen argues that enterprises aren’t going to build their own software. They’re going to deploy AI agents that use software tools to get work done. “Agents won’t replace tools. Agents will use tools.” NVIDIA is already seeing this happen. According to Jensen, the company has deployed so many AI agents that tool usage is actually increasing. That’s the exact opposite of the SaaSpocalypse thesis.

AI has a "last-mile problem" similar to self-driving cars. With self-driving cars, early demos impressed, but real-world deployment took years. It's easy to hack up a prototype, but making it work reliably at scale is hard. If each step of an AI agent is only 95% accurate, none of the 30-step workflows will work reliably. Going from 95% to 99.9% accuracy is the real challenge.
