The ACC just had an excellent season, with its premier program Clemson not contributing, but apparently they’re “secret garbage.” • National Championship appearance • Miami by themselves won as many CFP games as the entire 5-bid SEC. • Winning record vs. the SEC (for the second time in the last three years. Five consecutive wins over the SEC to end last season). • Virginia just won 11 games. • SMU is 20-7 in two years at the Power 4 level. • Georgia Tech had their best season since 2016. • Duke won 9 games for the third time in the last four years. • Louisville won 9+ games for a third consecutive season. • 9-4 Wake Forest just had their best season since 2021 in their first year under Jake Dickert. • FSU, in the midst of a 2-6 year in ACC play, smoked Alabama. The largest second-half deficit a team has overcome to win in the women’s Final Four since 2002 is 12 points. Three teams have done it, and one of them was LSU—driven in large part by Angel Reese. After trailing by 12 with roughly 15 minutes remaining, Reese took control. She scored 14 points over the next 14 minutes—the most by any player during that stretch—and accounted for 40% of LSU’s remaining points. Her steal that led to a made free throw tied the game with six minutes left and sparked a 15–0 run that secured the win for the Tigers. LSU advanced to the national championship game for the first time in program history—and won their first national title there as well. ✨

My take on the Gus Malzahn firing I need to add this since I didn’t say it in a video. You fire Gus after a meaningless COVID season where a 7 win Ohio State played in the national championship game (LMFAO) when there were also very little coaches worth a damn on the market. Gus O Line recruiting fell off the last couple years but even with O line issues he was still getting bowl wins and 8+ win regular seasons. Gus did more with less. He took a 3-9 football team to a natty in his first year as HC. The argument for gus being fired “mediocrity can’t be accepted” is an absolute piss poor cop out answer. Gus met the standard Auburn football has had since its establishment. A perennial 8-4 football program and Gus accomplished that consistently and took us to very high ceilings in 2013 and 2017. To summarize: Auburn fired Gus because they got greedy. Auburn fired a Medium Floor, High ceiling coach in return look what happened to our great football program. We are in SHAMBLES. We have coaches who do less with way more than Gus ever had.

Head coach Wimp Sanderson led his team after receiving encouragement from the Bryant family to still play the game. It was refreshing to see Louisiana's Head Coach Matt Deggs, who'd just lost 19-5 to Mississippi State, after playing in mid 90s temps earlier in the afternoon just to get the opportunity, willing to talk about the game, his team, and even his expectations for next year. If you're fans of Mississippi State and its Head Coach Brian O' Connor, he will remind you of the same candor, plain-spoken-but-well-spoken type of coach who has both affection for his players but expectations of what he asks and demands of them. This is a coach whose team survived multiple elimination games at the Sun Belt tournament, played at all hours and even multiple locations last week, winding up in the championship game. And when offered a chance to deflect the lopsided score with the drain his team might have faced having only a short while after gutting out a win over 2-seed Cincinnati 8-6, he said his team wasn't tired, though. They just ran out of pitching. And, his analogy that "they were going to have to kill us, and they did" was a tip of the cap to his opponent, whom he deemed worthy of a long run in Omaha. Anyway, let's let Coach Deggs say that, and so much more, in his own words. Write it down now, they look like a team to watch in the Sun Belt for 2027.
