My one ? Why would you have the checkdown to the side of the dble slants???

He's not running a checkdown, he's staying in & blocking. We tell the QB if he wants to work the backside slants, he can tell the back to cross his face & flash fake. If you look at the 2nd clip on the Stick cut-ups, we have the back cross face to hold the LB to open the slant.

How are you teaching your slot WR on this route?

Line up within 5 yards of the hitch runner. Aim at a spot 7 yards directly over the hitch. Try to split the CB and the hitch. As he's running this route, we read the CB. If he bails, the slot will stalk block him. If he works down, slot snaps his head around and expects ball.
