These strikes are deliberately aimed at residential buildings and energy infrastructure, timed to a holiday weekend to deepen civilian hardship. Rescue teams are clearing debris and searching for survivors while operating under the threat of repeated strikes. Medical personnel and all emergency response services remain fully deployed. This coordinated drone and missile strike has caused widespread disruptions to water and heating supplies across Kyiv. Critical infrastructure has been transferred to backup power. Municipal services are working continuously to restore essential functions wherever security conditions allow. In Kyiv and the surrounding region, energy workers are restoring electricity to approximately 600,000 consumers. Russians are pursuing a campaign built on instilling exhaustion, cold, and fear, but it will not succeed.
