Slants or go balls with an occasional comeback/curl. But people think this offense has a Jalen Hurts problem and not a coaching problem. We’re witnessing malpractice

However, the concepts do stink too. How many other receivers are open in these clips?

AJ is not an outside receiver anymore, move him into the slot

Is it me or is there little to no separation on his routes? And I know he never had significant separation but there’s none. Even on a backup. Even one on one.

Only open when he pushes off. Great players are always the last to realize theyre no longer great. Hope it's just the injury, but hes checked out mentally and he cant perform physically. Hes hurting the team

Jimmy can you please ask Brown about this play? No safety help, guy just quits on a route and has the audacity to drag his teammates.

Why does nick think receivers can only run in a straight line.

Best-case scenario is that he never fully healed/got into shape due to hamstring injuries. If that’s the case, put him on IR for 4 games and have him get ready for playoffs. IF he’s aged overnight then…😬

Slant or go routes thats it 😂😂😂 thats fucking embarrassing KP

It appears most of the plays are for AJ and everyone else just goes away. There were TOO MANY hitch routes as well. The one that bothers me the most is the LAST clip. Safety overshadows AJ's side leaving Dotson or Smitty WIDE OPEN for a TD in the slot on the other side

Zero separation on everything but a couple of quick slants. Looks like he’s lost a step. One-trick pony now (quick slants) and he only gives effort on a quarter of his routes. He gave up on another deep ball, too. Devonta Smith is their #1 receiver and they need to feed him.

Has AJ lost a step? To me, the key stat in the article is this: ”Brown's getting less separation on his targets, too. His average separation per target is 1.7 yards; he's never measured less than 2.1 yards in any year of his NFL career.” That’s important because to a quarterback assessing if a guy is open or not he looks covered. Perform the eye test yourself. Even on balls thrown to him he looks blanketed. But the article also has this interesting stat: ”A massive change for Brown in 2025 is where he's lining up. Philadelphia is deploying Brown wide in 92.7% of his snaps. That's nearly 10% more than any year he's been in Philadelphia and the highest rate of his career. Unsurprisingly, that means he's taking just 7.3% of his snaps from the slot.” When AJ first came here a key aspect of his game was his strength. He could flight off tackles and gain yards. And he could fight off bump-and-run coverage to make a catch. Defenses also put their best coverage guys on the outside, and weaker ones on the inside. Facing a safety or even a linebacker would certainly help getting separation. AJ’s size also makes him an effective blocker in the slot. AJ’s strength is best utilized for a slot receiver. Trouble is the big name and big salary receivers want to be wide. They also don’t like spending a big part of their game blocking. Could the Eagles experiment playing him more in the slot?

His separation is zapped

WASHED

Jalen gotta throw a perfect ball in wind because bro is a sloth now

These route designs are complete garbage. Patullo has absolutely no clue what he’s doing. If you don’t know how to beat man coverage you should idk ask someone for help????

But, but, but, they should be able to scheme him open.

He’s an awful player. Not only is he straight up not good at being a receiver he’s annoying to deal with Cam Newton tried to lie about this eagles team being a superteam cause he jealous of Jalen Hurts lol

Home half assing routes and can’t get open, definitely not as elite as last year.. I mean when a backup CB is covering stride for stride and all your catches are contested.. man, you need to get off social media and get back to the the basic.. and find the drive. Pathetic

Play design is awful + he's getting no separation. So naturally it's a Jalen problem lmao

Zero separation! He’s definitely hurt

No separation on any of these clips. A lot of blame goes to play calling but some does go directly to AJ

Yeah he needs to go on IR for 4 weeks. Let me see what Darius Cooper can do. 135th ranked WR in separation. I get it! He’s hurt

Clearly lost a step. Zero separation. All year.

Kevin Potato is a damn criminal 😐

NO SEPARATION- AT ALL- FCK AJ Brown

Definition of forcing it

Mr. Always Open, isn't -- even against a backup corner from Temple!

We’re actually starting the A.J. Brown lost a step narrative 🤦🏾♂️ the only route that was well guarded and not doubled or bad throw was the DPI that won the game.

AJ has either seriously lost a step or isnt tryng, at all..time to move on from him. Im over it

It’s no creativity with the routes bruh 😂

My takeaways... 1. They have him running basically 3-4 routes. 2. He wasn't able to get an inch of separation on a replacement level CB. 3. #1 explains some of #2, but not the bulk of it.

last two plays have other better options but most part no one else getting big separation
