Been watching a lot of footage of 2028 QB and now Alabama commit Charles Scott Jr. According to 247 in 2025 the 6’5, 255 lb sophomore threw for around 3,600 yards and 41 TDS on 178 completions. Only throwing 4 INTs!!! Scott Jr (son of his high school coach) has obvious massive upside given his size. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that already as a sophomore, he has an SEC build. The Good: - Kid is LARGE, much like Alabama’s recent five star commit Elijah Haven, Scott’s size allows him a full view of everything going on around him on the field. Mechanics benefit from his size - strong throwing platform. - Flashes plenty of natural strengths, including an explosive arm that doesn’t seem to have to work very hard to push the ball vertically. - Even as a developing HS quarterback, Scott Jr already shows a lot of finesse. Accuracy in highlight tape (provided below from Scottboyz on YouTube) is on the upswing, especially on layered and touch passes. - Although not technically a massive run threat, Scott Jr, given his size, can stress defenders on the ground, especially in short yardage situations. Areas for Refinement: - Shows promise with timing routes, but will get better as he matures over the next couple of season. - Mechanics are not fully polished as to be expected from a young QB, but raw traits still shine. Footwork under pressure! - Will grow into faster processing speeds as he continues his path. Will need this as he makes the talent jump to the SEC. All-in-all, this is a rising recruit in the 2028 class - one that will garner a ton of attention over the next several months, especially now that Alabama fully seated at the head of the table. Another potential eval masterclass from Kalen DeBoer, Ryan Grubb, and Bryan Ellis. The scheme fit for Scott Jr is perfect at Alabama. The size and arm talent are there, with touch on the way. Combined with intangibles such as high football IQ (coaches son) and a very strong relationship with Tide staff - this is a solid pickup for Alabama. The QB position remains in great hands moving forward in Tuscaloosa.

85-87 T88 MPH (HS Junior) ➡️ 92-94 T95.5 MPH (HS Senior) 🤯⁠ ⁠ An athlete update from Performance Coach Paul Hall Jr. 🔥⁠ ⁠ Tread Athlete Ryan Press came to us a little under a year and a half ago sitting 85-87 mph, topping 88, and weighing in at 155 lbs. Fast forward to now, and he's sitting 92-94, topping 95.5mph.⁠ ⁠ Overall, Ryan's foundation was there. However, the goal was to improve his total development in terms of strength, nutrition, and mechanics.⁠ ⁠ Weight Room 🏋️⁠ ’22-23 ➡️ ‘24⁠ DB Bench: 55lb ➡️ 80lb⁠ Back Squat: 250lb ➡️ 300lb ⁠ Deadlift:310lb ➡️ 370lb⁠ DB Row: 70 ➡️ 90 ⁠ ⁠ Body Weight (+20lbs): ⁠ ’22-23: 155 lbs⁠ ’24: 175 lbs ⁠ ⁠ Mechanics⁠ ⁠ Ryan had an aggressive coil coming into peak leg lift, which was causing some downstream issues with his ability to rotationally load his back leg and maintain direction. This coil was also presenting as excessive torso counter rotation at foot strike, forcing an aggressive pull towards his glove side and negatively impacting both velocity and command at times.⁠ ⁠ The change was utilizing a more controlled lift, thinking "knee to glove-side pec." Through a variety of med ball work and plyo drills, the goal was to help him rotate downhill in a more north-to-south vs east-to-west plane of rotation. This helped improve command, led to harder secondary pitches, and increased the output substantially on the heater. ⁠ ⁠ Ryan, now a Senior in HS, ranks as one of the top prep arms in Canada. ⁠ ⁠ Well worthy of a look for the upcoming Draft. 🚀⁠ ⁠ #TreadFam⁠

The best exercise for the brain you’ve probably never seen. According to Michael J. Lavery’s book “Whole Brain Power”, using a 4-pound sledge hammer to bounce a golf ball up and down dramatically amplifies both your neurological and physical demands Massive Central Nervous System (CNS) Activation The sheer weight of a 4-lb sledge forces the CNS to fire at a much higher intensity. To keep a lively golf ball bouncing on a heavy, rigid piece of steel, your brain has to send incredibly powerful, rapid-fire signals to your muscles. This level of resistance forces maximum motor unit recruitment, teaching your nervous system to fire more efficiently under tension. Elite Grip and Forearm Strength Lavery heavily emphasizes the link between hand/grip strength and brain health, viewing the hands as the direct external extension of the central nervous system. Bouncing a ball requires a loose, reactive wrist to absorb and redirect impact, but holding a 4-lb hammer requires immense isometric grip strength.
