This really sucks, now everyone knows. We need to outlaw memory/hard drives on copiers & faxes and replace them with a chip that writes over the last scan and auto deletes the last scan.

Is this true of personal printers in people homes? We probably went through 8-10 printers over the years never considering our information being captured inside it.

It's a feature not advertised to a public that didn't know any better. I learned of it a number of years ago, and refused to use them for private stuff. It's also why I own a scanner/printer. How did ID theft become so prevalent? Ask the business and education systems.

Our government decided yrs ago when they send old equipment to the auction houses they destroy all hard drives. They were bragging on ebay how they accidentally got government recycled info.
