He's not just scared, more like, miserable, in pain, sad and puzzled

I would say it’s moreso that he’s likely never gotten so close to dying before. Dying to protect his “friends”, while being restricted by his 360 deal. Like he mentioned to Charlie, he’s constantly smiling to hide what his real thoughts are. Frustration, regret, & bitterness.

I think he's more like so disappointed of himself that he changed, that he protected his friends that he is afraid of himself, and that he's not as strong as he thought

I think he’s realizing he’s not as invincible as he thought he was, and he’s talking about being free from the person that’s holding his leash.

Yep. I think whatever deal he made forces him to protect the hotel, and he just realized that is more dangerous than he thought, and he does NOT want to go out with everyone thinking he’s some goody two-shoes!

What im getting: I nearly died for my "friends" and thats not how I'm going out. But his contract i got is making me more desperate for freedom. Translation: This contract with Lilith will be the death of me but jokes on her, once I'm free I will be the one on top
