Albania’s Lesson On Resisting Settler Colonialism There is something very powerful about what Albanians are doing right now. They saw a foreign-backed “luxury development” coming for their protected land, and they understood immediately what was really at stake. Their land and their sovereignty. Africans should be watching very closely... because we know this story too well. We have seen outsiders arrive, “discover” places that already have people, history, culture, and meaning, then package everything as investment and development. Here’s what the communication was like after Helene hit WNC. It’s beyond horrible, and these people still need so much help. So many there believe they have been forgotten. That’s so sad. There are people in our state and federal government who need to see the inside of a jail cell for a long time. Do you think it’s a coincidence that there is land the government wanted, and it just so happens that this same land gets flooded? Problem solved…All the people who wouldn’t sell are not a problem now. They are either gone or everything they owned is gone with no way to rebuild. COINCIDENCE?

Misuzulu should be corrected. People do not migrate because they are hungry. People migrate because of business opportunities, education, exploitation of raw materials, exploitation of labour, investment. Misuzulu should infact teach his people that it is not the immigrants making them hungry. Immigrants are actually creating jobs for them. Very few South Africans own businesses. They have nothing. It is foreigners making the South African economy strong. He should actually say "bangahamba sizalamba" not the other way round . Majority of black South Africans are poor. Own nothing. Have no land, no business, no nothing hence the highest crime, "ukabambi kunzi". South Africa is unsafe country, you can not walk/drive freely at night. Because of poverty people steal, kill and do heinous crimes. The anti-immigrant attitude is misdirected. Their problem is not foreign influx. "If you don’t know history, you won’t understand your future. When I look at the Partition, I always feel that I should tell children - this happened. What happened was wrong and should not be repeated. I felt very sorry for the people who emigrated from what is today called Pakistan and Bangladesh. Just because a person who knew nothing about India -- its culture or its languages -- took a pencil and drew a line, and said that from that moment onwards this land no longer belonged to them and had become a foreign land. How heartbreaking that is. Rishi Sunak’s grandparents were originally from regions that are now in Pakistan and were forced to leave everything behind during Partition. I think people that are scared of beavers are the people that like to manage the land completely as if it's a garden. Farmers and people that breed birds for game shooting and all that kind of stuff. I mean, for them, the land is only natural when it's what they've set it out to be, to look like and to have in it. Beavers are wild creatures, they do their own thing but they’re superb for flood water management, an issue that we have to deal with, as the climate crisis continues to bite - they are also fantastic for habitat creation. An issue we have to deal with because we've lost so much of our wildlife.

When everyone says makes an exception here or makes an exception there, and then before you know it, you have masked agents roaming the streets of this country that do not feel entitled to identify themselves or do not feel like as though they answer to the American people at all. That is dangerous. It does not go without saying that the people that they went after first are some of the most vulnerable activists in the United States, which is to say, pro-palestinian organizers and young people, especially those who who are on green cards or visas… And the idea that we would allow our freedom of speech to be violated and create exceptions to that for people who are advocating for the lives of Palestinians, it erodes at the very core of American identity, too, because this is a land of the free, but only as long as we defend it and make it so
