Don’t know if this match really took place, but being smart doesn't mean somebody is a good chess player. Nor vice versa.

I’m having difficulty accepting that two very genius minds played chess this way. It just looks like an ordinary @chesscom session we dabble in to stay sharp. @grok has this game been documented thoroughly?

This game is fictitious. There is no primary source to support it.

There's no conclusive evidence that this match ever occurred, let alone the availability of a move-by-move breakdown. Shouldn't a site called Chess Feed vet their posts and give us a link to the substantiating evidence?

Einstein is one of those players who likes to “castle” early. Interesting 🤔

I realize part of the reason they seem so terrible is because the modern beginner meta and generally understood principles are way better than back then but by god did they ever make some shockingly bad moves. Even if that game was blitz, some real head scratchers in there.

Being genius scientist doesn’t make you Chess expert automatically. Both requires their own skill set and development.

@LNemour Well I have to say I’m 1,250 Elo at chess federation, very much intermediate but honestly for two geniuses that was intermediate play. Quite shocked.

There is little to no evidence that this game was actually played by Albert and Robert.

Oppenheimer played opening like ~1000 elo I don't think he had much experience in chess

I'm sure the queen can be moved instead waiting to be attacked by the rook. I don't know what Robert is trying to achieve by moving the pawn instead of the queen
