Derek, the Parti Québécois was founded in 1968, nearly 58 years ago. These are serious sovereignists whose cause rests on a REAL distinct society. Yours doesn’t have that foundation. Now governing as a minority, their leader plans to wait until Trump leaves office before pursuing a referendum, if that ever happens, because you know how quickly things change in politics. They have also left the door open to pipelines, although there’s no commitment to one from Alberta to Quebec. If that happens, I expect separation talks to cease, and I don't have to explain why to you. Let's just say provinces and Ottawa would have interests to defend.
