Alberta is currently restraining its own emergency powers to prevent their abuse, laying the groundwork for an Alberta police service and making policing more accountable (which has been a promise for a long time). Naturally, the NDP are opposed. ON and QC have police services. Feds (and Jason Kenney)...

I absolutely agree. Alberta needs police that will protect its citizens. Way to go, Alberta.👍

@RebelNews_CA The further a province distances its self from the Mounties and their political puppet masters in Ottawa the better off you are.

This is great news for Alberta! It's kind of hypocritical that Ont and QB are allowed to have their own provincial police for and no one bat's an eye but Alberta wants to do the same and it a big deal. It's only an issue because this would strengthen Alberta's independence

Way to go Premier Smith! I don’t think we need to be worried about the NDP’s failing party. Rumor has it, they also want a divorce from the Feds?

Provincial police force answerable to the public 💯 ON is NOT a shining example- Ford sent OPP to Ottawa to try & batter the protesters into submission. They enjoyed every minute of it. QC the same.Premiers can choose to weaponize law enforcement against citizens - it happened

With current technology I'm surprised we don't have live streaming with all officers at all times. Think of the increased safety and response time with actual live stream feeds. Dispatch offices would expand but the degree of safety and connectivity would be huge.
