Chris Murphy (D-CT): “Now that you are on the job, can you commit to us that if a court judges something ICE is doing, something DHS is doing, is illegal, is unconstitutional, tells you to stop — that you will comply with the court order?” DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin: “We will never break the Constitution, and we’re not going to break the law, but we’re gonna enforce our nation’s laws, and we’re gonna enforce the laws that you guys passed, and that we implement. We will never go outside that, and if we do, we will hold each other accountable for that.” Chris Murphy: “But that doesn’t sound like the same thing as committing that you will obey a court order. Obviously, the entire structure of the federal government gives the power to the federal court to divine whether you are obeying or not. I mean, I think it’s an easy thing to say. Will you or will you not implement court orders?” Markwayne Mullin: “If we didn’t think courts were politicized, then I would probably be able to answer that. But we see courts over and over again that use their bench for their political opinion, not just the rule of law. Unless we restrain them and tell them you’re done going on the offense, and if you continue to conduct strikes without running them by us, then we’re going to start taking away parts of your defense system. That’s the only way to restrain them in my opinion. We can’t just ask nicely anymore because every time we do, they say okay and then continue striking anyway. Marco Rubio: We're not members of the ICC. We never signed that treaty, we never joined it. And they somehow claim that they have a right nonetheless to go after non-treaty members and put heads of state and others in jail. We've long had quarrels with them and we have lunatics and crazies involved in the ICC that are talking about charging members of the US military, maybe even the president or a future president with crimes and this not gonna happen, it's just not going to happen. If people want to sign it and be a part of that stupid organization they can, but we're not going to be a part of it and they're not going to apply their jurisdiction to Americans. That's just not going to happen. We're not going to tolerate it, now or in the future and we've warned them about it repeatedly. And now they're going to see the consequences of ignoring us.

Since he can’t control the state, we’ll do it for him. We saw union activists and organizers be involved in these efforts to resist our operations. So, there is something going on here where you have this sophisticated resistance being mounted against the federal government. And we’re looking into that. We’re going to look into who the leaders of the operations are.
