Alberta is the last stand for Canada. I’m not Albertan so personally, I would rather they stay in Canada because I understand the detrimental effects that this will have on the country. That being said, it might need to be done. Not just for Alberta - but for Canada. We might have to disassemble this whole thing so we can build something new. Nothing is working here. Our constitution, our judicial system, our parliamentary system….it’s time for a change. Maybe Alberta leaving is exactly what Canada needs to wake up.

A guy in Calgary told me we’re not even allowed to discuss Alberta independence. Think about that. Apparently in Canada, we’re only allowed to talk about approved political topics. Then he said Alberta leaving Canada isn’t legal because one judge said the petition can’t be counted. So I asked him: If that decision was successfully appealed, would that change your mind? He said no. And that’s the whole point. For a lot of people, “it’s not legal” is not actually a legal argument. It’s just a talking point. The second the legal process doesn’t support them anymore, they still oppose it anyway. Quebec had two referendums. The Supreme Court already dealt with the issue of secession. But somehow when Alberta wants to even talk about it, people act like the conversation itself is forbidden. All the more reason for Alberta to quickly get off this dystopian train.

Mark Carney says in order for there to be a referendum to leave Canada, you first must have a majority vote showing people want a referendum. Clearly the rules have changed & grassroots movements that took in over 700K signatures, like in Alberta, were pointless. Now democracy means whatever Mark Carney decides it means. This is exactly why we need Provincial leaders who can stand up to Ottawa. Something desperately lacking in Canada. Democratic & basic human rights keep changing for average citizens. All while the government assumes an autocratic style of governance that makes democracy pointless. We are being slow walked out of a democracy folks. There is no other way to look at it.

Treaty Chiefs in Alberta just asked the RCMP to criminally investigate Premier Danielle Smith for treason. Her crime? Calling a referendum. A perfectly legal & democratic act under provincial jurisdiction. Smith’s response was measured: “I’ve had my differences with the federal government, but I have never used language like that. This kind of overwrought language has no place in a democracy.” She’s right. You can disagree with the referendum. You can campaign against it. You can vote against it. But you cannot criminalize it. The Premier asked the chiefs to check themselves. She’s 100% right. This type of behaviour should not be accepted by the elected or unelected in Canada.

Danielle Smith goes completely limp on the Alberta referendum, saying it's legally impossible for Alberta to have a referendum. Despite all the work put in to collect the needed signatures. From the BC Conservative leadership race to Alberta independence, our democracy is under extreme attack in Western Canada. We are being told our rights do not matter. Our voice does not deserve to be heard. Our votes simply do not matter and should only count if the establishment gets the outcome it wants. You can play by all the rules, only to watch the system change the rules at the last minute. Sickening but par for the course in Canada. I don't remember the Quebec referendums in 1980 & 1995 being shut down by the courts.

I went to the Forever Canadian office in Edmonton because Albertans deserve answers about whether both sides of the October 19 referendum are being held to the same rules — I don't beleive they are! Elections Alberta lists Forever-Canadian Citizens Initiative Society as a registered referendum third-party advertiser with $0.00 in reported referendum advertising contributions through September 10. Meanwhile, Forever Canada has offices, events and tens of thousands of lawn signs across Alberta. 🇺🇸🦵🇨🇦 : Part 2 : Charlie calls it treason when people promote Alberta separating from Canada & calls on US officials to be expelled from Canada. Never once does Charlie mention the Quebec separatist movement. The BQ have been talking about having a referendum after the 2026 Provincial election since 2025. Never once does he call for the BQ to be expelled from Parliament, for promoting a sovereign Quebec, in the Canadian House of Commons. But you can be sure many Canadians will ignore this double standard.
