ALERT: Missing Mt. Everest tour guide was found miraculously alive above base camp after being missing for 6 days, as his family was already performing a funeral ritual. Hillary Dawa Sherpa was pronounced missing on May 29th after his clients reached base camp without him. They were among the... last to descend the dismantled mountain trail at the end of the climbing season. Cleaning crews found Hillary crawling down the snowy mountain at Khumbu Icefall, right above base camp. A rescue helicopter transported Hillary to HAMS Hospital in Kathmandu, where his wife and daughter reunited with him. Mendo Lhamu Sherpa, Hillary’s teenage daughter, said they were on day 2 of the funeral ritual, which lasts several days. Mendo said, “When we first heard about it, we could not be sure if that person was indeed our father… So, to be certain, we asked for photos to be sent, and then only we were sure and very happy.”show more

Anurag Maloo, an Indian climber with a mission larger than summits, the goal was to advance awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through his “Climbing for SDGs”, had fallen down into the crevasse. On April 17, while descending from Camp III, around 5,800 meters, Anurag slipped. In seconds, he disappeared into a deep crevasse, a fall of more than 300 meters into one of the most unforgiving places on the mountain. The ice swallowed him whole. Most believed he was gone. But hope refused to die. For two days, in perilous conditions, a daring international team launched a rescue mission like no other. “That was fun, but not as fun as tackling people.” Preston Lobliner had these words of wisdom after his first day of kicking camp with James Wilhoit. Without any training, he was the only kid in his league last year who could kick extra points, and that was HUGE since they are worth 2 points since nobody does it. With Middle School Football upon us, we are excited to see him contribute to his team as an accurate and powerful kicker and an all out DAWG on offense and defense. This was 30 yards, and after this camp and learning how to actually kick, I expect to hit 40+ by the time the season hits. Also the best news ever for us, he is starting back in wrestling next week daily after injuring his elbow at practice the day after winning state so we will start working on that 3rd state championship! SUPER PROUD of this kid!

We bought a perfect puppy (completely healthy, with veterinary confirmation and KSU documents). We started looking for a transporter. It so happened that the transporter suggested by the breeder had bad reviews, so I went to search on my own. I found a person who supposedly understands dogs (according to him - super responsible and takes full responsibility for the animal). Of all the possible problems, only a 1–2 day delay in delivery was discussed. Spoiler: they promised delivery in 3–4 days, it took 2 weeks… Before the breeder handed over the dog, this person was constantly in touch, communicating, etc. After the dog arrived in Kyiv from Kryvyi Rih, the transporter (whose name is Artem +380973444587 and his wife Alina +380 95 764 98 86 / all communication was through his wife’s number, which is listed on his website) sent us only one video. Then I explained that we had already paid for the dog and it was already ours, but nothing changed after that. The dog was taken to Moldova and they wrote: “there is no veterinarian at the border who issues the EU certificate, so we are waiting for one to appear.” We were outraged but agreed, because the agreement was for LEGAL transportation!!! Remember this moment, because later Artem (the transporter) will explain everything with this EU certificate. As it turned out later, the dog was with his relatives in Moldova, who also deal with transportation (Ruslan +373 695 71 399). The transportation of the dog was ultimately carried out by a passenger transport company (Baltik Tour — +380 63 060 5614). In the second week, we started calling, arguing, and saying that we would pick up the dog from Moldova and transport it ourselves. Eventually, we contacted Ruslan, and he said that in 2–3 days the dog would definitely be sent to us. All this time, we did not know how exactly the dog would be transported - we were told that it would travel ALONE WITH THE DRIVER. In the end, the dog was sent to us. It was supposed to arrive on March 7–8, but on March 6 at 8 a.m., a woman called me and said: “Your dog is dying, we actually thought it was already dead. I wrote you a message on WhatsApp, but we gave it sugar and it seems to have recovered a bit. Go pick it up and take it to a veterinarian if you want it to survive…” Then we went to pick up the dog 100 km from Warsaw. It was barely breathing. They told us it had just been running. We take the dog, go to a taxi, and they tell us: “Where is the money? Pay or we won’t let you take the dog. If it dies - you will deal with the transporter.” Then we went to a clinic and did tests. With 90% probability, it was a stroke, which led to severe neurological issues: the dog could not walk, eat, or drink, and was relieving itself while lying down. After the transport, it lost 30% of its weight, which has now caused gastritis, it also picked up parasites somewhere, and many other problems. Please, be careful and only trust animals to people you know personally. Oh, and one more thing: when I asked what happened to the dog, I was told: “I left it in the carrier for just an hour, and when I came back, it started screaming, squealing, and lost consciousness.” How could anyone think to leave a dog like that… If we had known this could happen - we didn’t even suspect that something like this is possible in the modern world. And what if we didn’t have money for treatment? What if we didn’t make it in time? This is simply horror and hell, I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. "On Thursday he called me to sit with his friends, something he usually wouldn't do. He told me how proud he was of me, that I was a fighter and that I was his pride. I didn't understand why he was telling me all this.” Bar Asraf's sister Lihi shared a memory of her brother. This weekend, Bar took his own life at the grave of his girlfriend, Liron Barda z"l. Liron was murdered by Hamas at the Nova massacre on October 7th. Last Wednesday, Bar danced at his brother Maor's wedding. Family members say he was happy, sang, hugged everyone, and was moved by the celebration. On Saturday, the family had gathered at their home. "At noon, he wanted to go to the pool," recalled Lihi. "We said we didn't have a membership, so he said, 'Okay.' When we couldn't find him, we started searching on foot. We thought about where he might be, and we said we'd go to Liron's grave. At first, I didn't see him. Then I saw him lying there. I shouted, 'Bar, get up!'" "Only then did I understand what had happened. At first, I was even afraid that they had killed him. I didn't understand what I was seeing." Bar's family said he and Liron were soulmates. "Liron would come to us all the time, especially on Tuesdays when Mom would make couscous. When he was on a trip to Colombia, she even flew in to surprise him. They were soulmates." Day 23 - well that hurt a lot The hike from BC to camp 1 - what a monumental day - one of the hardest sessions in my life We awoke at midnight, had ‘brekkie’ at 12.30am, and we were pretty much gone by 1.30am The icefall is like a big Jungle Jim set, with constant overhanging danger - for the most part it is quite good fun, but there are not many places that you can stop safely to rest. I was so busy that I did not get the camera out once, despite the fact that some of the photo opportunities were incredible When you get to the top of the icefall, there are a number of sheer walls that need to be jumar’ed up and this is where the first sense of false security set in - all of us thought that we were nearing the end of the day and that the tents of camp 1 were not too far off. Big bloody mistake - whilst the terrain looks gently undulating, it is cleaved by whopping big crevasses and gullies, which inevitably means you have to go down to come back up. Some of the ice walls we had to climb were at least 10m and there were multiples of them The video below show just how tired we were as we crawled into camp 1 (9:30mins later, 850m altitude gained). Beyond gassed.

Context: Why "Warm Spring with Blooming Flowers"? In May 2020, Na Ying posted a video of her in the greenery, singing "Warm Spring with Blooming Flowers". Towards the end of the song, we hear someone also singing in the background, and some guessed that was Xiao Zhan (and he didn't finish singing the last 2 words), but we could not be sure. In Jun 2020, during the week where hot search was suspended in Weibo, Xiao Zhan posted the pictures in Oasis app. There were some who thought that these set of pictures were taken then, but again, we could not be sure. Today, it's the confirmation that it was really him with Na Ying. And he finishes the last 2 words on a high note. Personally, I am really, really grateful that she was around to support him when he was going through such a turbulent time.

We took the Cybertruck to pick up mulch and other landscaping supplies to finish the front yard. It was supposed to be a quick 15 minutes in and out. This couple was so interested in the truck that my wife and I walked up at the end of the video and started talking Tesla! We showed them everything about the truck that we could. While that was happening, another older lady walked up and asked if we could show her the truck too. So my wife finished with the first couple, and I started the tutorial all over again. Needless to say, after an hour had passed, we finally finished and were able to FSD home! 🏡

VIDEO: Residents rescue man gagged by wife, sons over pension dispute Residents of Oko-Filling, a serene neighborhood in Araromi, Ijoko, Sango Ota, came to the rescue of a man who had been bound, gagged and left for death by his wife and children following a dispute over his retirement benefits. The incident took place in the early hours of Thursday, March 13, at the family’s residence. The conflict began when the man reportedly refused to hand over the entirety of his retirement payout to his wife and four sons. After receiving the money, he used a portion to open two shops for his wife in Abule after giving her N3 million. He also bought a N12 million car for himself while the family already owned a home in the area. However, his wife and sons, who are all university graduates, expressed dissatisfaction with the distribution of the funds and attempted to pressure him for more. The situation took a darker turn when the man sold the newly purchased vehicle shortly after acquiring it, raising suspicions among neighbors. Today, our hearts are heavy. 💔 Rambo, a beloved pet dog and a familiar face around our kitchen compound, has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. For the last two years, Rambo was a regular visitor. He would often come by, greet everyone with his gentle presence, and enjoy his meals. He was deeply loved by an elderly lady from the nearby neighborhood who cared for him like family. A few days ago, Rambo suddenly stopped eating and became very weak. His guardian sought our help, as it was difficult to understand the seriousness of his condition initially. We immediately took him to the veterinary hospital, where X-rays and scans revealed a heartbreaking reality. His lungs had severe fluid accumulation, and the veterinarians informed us that his chances of survival were extremely low. Despite the odds, treatment continued for three days. The veterinary team did everything they could. A procedure was performed to remove the accumulated fluid, and for a brief moment, we hoped he would recover. But sometimes, despite all efforts, love, prayers, and treatment are not enough. A day after the procedure, sweet Rambo left us. His passing is a painful reminder of how important early detection and timely medical intervention can be. Animals cannot tell us when they are suffering, and often by the time symptoms become visible, it may already be too late. We are deeply saddened that we could not save him. We ensured that Rambo received a dignified burial, surrounded by the love and respect he deserved. Run free, sweet boy. Several months ago I read an article entitled "Fart walks save lives" and ever since I've been a fan of a post-prandial stroll... It is so good for the digestion and general health; it gets the blood circulating, burns calories and let's you talk through the day with your other half....(farting is optional). So tonight, after a home-cooked meal, I persuaded james to come along the river for a 40 minute walk- and-talk. It was pitch black on the towpath and we saw only 3 other people, all wearing earpods . On the way back we heard, " help! Help!"... and at first thought it was one of the many rowing coaches you hear on The Thames - even after dark. But then I saw a bicycle on its side and shouted after the voice. 20 ft below us, in the water, was a bloke who had come off his bike and fallen headlong down the banking. He had flattened some of the bushes and trees but was still very difficult to see amongst the thick foliage. James scrambled down as far as safely possible to get a better look. The chap was still in his bike helmet, waist deep in the water and thick mud but unable to get any grip at all on the sheer brick wall. James got back up and found his very long bike lock which he then dangled down to try and pull him up - while I nervously said, " please don't get pulled in too.." (eventually James said, " yes I heard you the first 3 times..."). He was too far down to pull up but was pleading with us not to call 999..."it's just so embarrassing " he said.... He sounded like he was in his 50s, well-spoken and very fed up with himself! I stayed talking to him while James ran to get a longer rope and torch from home (but also gave me the nod to call 999). I was worried that our friend might let go or try to climb out and lose his grip if he knew the lifeguard was coming so I kept him talking and asked if there was anyone else I could ring for him. He rather ruefully said no. James appeared back sprinting with the rope. But seconds after speaking to 999, the Chiswick Lifeboat appeared heroically through the dark. They scooped our water-logged Bradley wiggins up and took him down to Kew and off to hospital to get checked over. We walked his bike back to our house and hope to reunite them soon. The moral to the story is that you should never flop on the sofa after dinner when you could walk round the block. Because that article was right - fart walks do save lives! I was at a beach club in Bali with a few friends. We were drinking, hanging out, and eventually they decided to head home. I wasn’t ready to leave, so I stayed. I ended up talking to a group of Australian girls. We were all getting along, and after a while they asked if I’d buy everyone a round of shots. I did. One round turned into several. By the end of it I’d had around 6-7 shots and was definitely drunk. Then one of the girls asked for my Instagram. She took my phone to add herself. It was already unlocked, so I handed it over without thinking twice. That was the biggest mistake of the night.

Fun fact. Stoopee (the black one) wandered into our house a week after our dog Watson passed. A month after we adopted him, he made sure to bring his friend from the street Lucy (the white one) by. We knew it would have to be both of them adopted together. Now during the day, whenever they sleep they like to be in each others eye line. At night, she sleeps in the bedroom and he makes sure to sleep in a bed right outside the bedroom door. Like he’s keeping watch on the three of us. We moved back to Mumbai exactly a year ago. With our two goa indies. We were so stressed about whether they would adapt. Strangely, the minute they got to the city, away from the street they lived on, it’s like they knew they were set for life. Because the reminder of the street they used to live on was gone, so they weren’t always on edge. They know now, Wherever we go, they know they are coming. Seeing them settle here, sleep 16 hours a day without a care in the world, is I think the greatest moment of this year for me. It’s been an amazing amazing blessing 🧿

Bernoulli was THRILLED to have his buddy home and Brix was so happy to see his giant friend. Brix seems to be doing just fine, but last night was scary. He started vomiting uncontrollably and crying shortly after his supper. Thankfully, the xrays showed he ate his food too fast and was a bit backed up which was an uncomfortable mix. We were told that it was good we brought him in- puking more than 4 times in a row isn’t great and the little man was on number 9 by the time he got into the pet emergency. We do mix his dry food with water, but he may just need wet food instead so we are trying that.

As I was walking down canal street I noticed this girl walking down the street alone only to be stopped by 2 Pakistani lads (in fairness they seemed similar age). After she started walking backwards and they followed I hung back to see if she was ok. They ended up talking right in front of me. Whilst the guys were trying it on with her and you could say the girl was flirting back she then looked at me right in the eyes and said “help me, help”. I’m not sure how serious she was but a taxi was booked for her to get home. Blur added for the girls privacy.
