It’s a classic leg kick with a “heavy leg” In Muay Thai we usually train to kick “through” the thigh as opposed to traditional karate kicks that “pull back” or retract after making contact. You’re aiming for the vastus lateralis muscle and if you hit “heavy” enough you trigger the femoral nerve which is what Pereira is doing. Scary thing is his technique isn’t even optimised. His supporting foot is planted and doesn’t pivot as his hips roll over. He could probably get another 10-15% out of his leg kick..ouch.
