I must be doing something right as a parent. When I played that video, my daughter came running with excitement. she’s eight years old. And somewhat obsessed Vivaldi’s four seasons.

Alexander Hrustevich is a Ukrainian-born bayanist who is widely considered to be one of the best in the world. He is known for his virtuosic playing and his ability to transcribe complex pieces for the bayan, including works for violin, piano, and orchestra. Hrustevich was born in Kyiv, Ukraine in 1983. He began studying the bayan at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks of the international bayan community. He has won numerous competitions, including the Coupe Mondiale de Bayan in 2009 and the Accordion Plus Competition in 2013. Hrustevich has performed extensively throughout Europe, North America, and South America. He has collaborated with many renowned musicians, including Bobby McFerrin, Paquito D'Rivera, and Richard Galliano. He has also released several albums, including Play (2009), Play Alexander Hrustevich 2011 (2011), and Play Alexander Hrustevich 2013 (2013). Hrustevich is a passionate advocate for the bayan. He believes that the bayan is a versatile and expressive instrument that deserves to be more widely known and appreciated. He is also committed to promoting Ukrainian music and culture. In 2023, Hrustevich continues to tour and perform extensively. He is also a dedicated teacher and mentor to young bayanists. He is a true ambassador for the bayan and for Ukrainian music.
