I saw a guy on Youtube make a DIY Kamado smoker like this with concrete blocks so decided to try it. It did the job but I felt like the smoke was escaping too much and it was difficult to control the fire, either it'll be too hot or too cold because the charcoal or wood wouldn't light. Also if fire was too hot it toasted the bottom of the meats. My takeaway is, just invest in a good smoker. And this wasn't even that cheap. About $200 for all the materials with the plywood being the most expensive thing.

That is a problem. He was also removed from the VA system for being aggressive on the phone after waiting a month to speak to staff just to get scheduled (he was politically incorrect with his statements in reality) This staff member made a huge decision because he was offended. Thank God his PCP saw what happened and called the veteran to find out what happened.
