Those EPCs were quoting amounts like $25 billion to construct the refinery. So Dangote had create his own EPC. He set up a team of 340 engineers in India. They bought... show more

Wowww

One take I am learning and taking from him is data. Each time he speaks there’s data to back up his decisions or step

He doesn't joke with his numbers

India has been a global hub for affordable skilled labour supply since 19XXX. You just try get one or two Western passport holders to manage them. Works all the time.

Imagine how productive Indians have become over the years. While Nigeria my Country is showing no signs of development either in Human capital development or even in infrastructural development. At least, make we try achieve one. Jesus!

He ended up spending even more and missed like 4-5 startup deadlines lol

Maybe, but he's now more experienced to execute projects of that scale. And won't have problems with his expansion plans.

@Dhiiipower Plus he would have still spent additional funds on top the $25billion if bechtel eventually encountered a cost overrun. So its a win win

@Officially_Kriz @Dhiiipower If the contract is structured properly the EPC will be responsible for cost overruns

@el_deeno00 @Officially_Kriz exactly

@el_deeno00 @Officially_Kriz For what it’s worth, that doesn’t mean I think the work needed to be done by Bechtel. The lessons & mistakes is invaluable IP which Africa desperately lacks…refineries have been around since the 1800s. We needed to learn how to build them ourselves without relying on outside

@el_deeno00 @Officially_Kriz 💯

This man might be the only person who could genuinely change this country but would never thread such route. His thinking out of the box is absolutely top notch.

I hope the monopoly king is ready to ship all his fuel off to India. These enablers propped up a criminal government that systematically destroys education at home, exports our jobs to foreign lands, and then has the absolute audacity to turn around and sell the refined end products right back to the very people they helped impoverish.

This is the construction company (Bechtel) that proposed to build the Nairobi to Mombasa highway..🤔

Yes, the degradation of our education system through sorting and all that is a major point, but a lack of genuine experience opportunity is also a huge problem. I am a Civil Engineering Graduate from FUTO, 99/20 set. I and maybe 3-5 others are probably the only graduates from my set currently practicing. The best students got sucked into banks and other sideways careers just because of the limited opportunities that were available. When i went to England to do my MSc in Technology Management, everyone was asking why ii wasnt continuing along the Civil Eng. line, because they could see what i had and was throwing away. While i was eager to switch away, others were heading in the other way from what i was running from. Nigeria has a way of wasting talents. Thank God i majored in Project Management, which allowed me to be a hybrid between Technology Management and Construction Management. The fact is, in the actual field, not many other nationals can compete with Nigerians, because what we bring to the table is problem-solving ability and not theoretical knowledge. Dangote and others should begin to provide opportunities for Nigerian graduates to gain the necessary field experience.

Sometimes when people doubt you, the best response is to go ahead and do what they said didn't make sense.

The question is why is India a very powerful hub for sourcing technological skills and know-how? Whether it's health, computer science or engineering, India have dominated the whole sector worldwide. The answer is simple, investment in quality education. Nigeria stand a chance to supply the world with expertise in every field if we invest in education. Imagine the boost in foreign exchange through diaspora remittances. In 2025 we got around $22 billion in diaspora remittances compare to India that got got over $150 billion in the same period.

A very smart businessman. Whatever others can do, Africans can do better.

Nigerian business man 🤣🤣🤣

Now same Dangote wants to sell his shares to Nigerians so he can pay up his debt 😂😂😂

you are proud to outsource technical talent to India when we suffer from underemployment and gross unemployment. Another reason why I’d never buy the dangote shares. Why you no go India go source the cheap dollars wey you use build the factory.

He's wrong about Libya. Even under Gaddafi, Libya was still a net importer of fuel due to years of western sanctions. It still is.

From initial estimated $9 billion to an actual of $20 billion. He took a very big risk.

And Alex twisted it that it is a Nigerian Engineers issues, thanks.

one indian >>>>>> 1000 Nigerians

Everybody loves being early… until being early requires actually believing.

Great mind set. He builds business ecosystem. That way he can replicate any project at anytime without any problems or issues

India is an outsourcing hub

I've said it time without number that Dangote is a madman😂😂😂

🕊️🌹

Remarkable

Interesting

When i want to build mine ill get Engineers from Asia

What’s EPC? Omo there’s a lot to learn if you want to excel in business oooo

This Indian Epidemic in the workforce is what "Americans" have been complaining about- H1B, F1 and OPT visa fraud and job issues. The community'll ram any national project with their own Govt should set up skill exchange and have expat return after specific training period.

Impressive, mehn

@grok how much did he end up spending

Hilarious nigga. Peak Outsourcing
