New convert here. I zeroed in that Christianity was the truth above all and at surface level took a denomination test at the beginning of my journey. Came full circle, all roads lead to Rome.

As a history major in college, I hate this meme. I hope anyone does more than reading 2 of anything, you are taught to at least include 3 sources for any argument. 😂

See the issue i have with these convos between various christian denomenations is that they use heremnuetics that try to smooth over apparent disagreements rather than just admitting they are real and potentially intractable. Both in the Bible and in Church History

While its possible the disagreements are only apparent, its not really clear from the evidence that this is the case. For example the concept of "through the son" is interpreted very clearly one way by St. Augustinr and St. Ambrose, yet its unclear what the Capadocian view was

Funny, I was a Catholic until I read the Bible and realized Catholics say they believe is God but go against His commands. Every time I asked why I was directed to some article, not scripture. Catholics do not follow God, they follow man.

Typical conversion/reversion cycle for Catholics. a) be in college, read the bible, convert to protestantism b) start to get interested in church history. Realize that pretty much everyone interpreted the same passages that made you convert differently. c) Go back and read them again asking different questions. d) Realize they do not say what you thought they were saying. e) Revert back to Catholicism.

I read about a book a week and most of it is history. And it all points to what a novel and radical break protestantism was to the historic faith.

Probably should branch out a bit then if you're just reading into your confirmation bias. If you have the patience, Chemnitz' examination of the Council of Trent was just re-released in an abridged english form for free on pdf. That's an excellent resource that goes into not just the history but also the theology and does a good job of documenting Rome's continual deviation from the historic Church over time. Again, free! The best price of all!

Brother, I grew up Catholic. I don’t judge the church but it’s not correct. Some great tradition, some is just smoke and mirrors. Read revelation, the gospel, the epistles, and the prophets. Identify where we are in the timeline and you might change your conviction. Rev 20:7

I was an atheist for the first 25 years o f my life then became Catholic.....for 20years. 20 years wasted worshiping Idols and vain mumbling instead of worshiping the Most High and his only Son. NEVER again.

I’ve learned that Catholicism is real. & admirable on many levels. But I’ve also learned that no church has the right to bar believers from the Father just cuz they don’t wear that teams jersey. ‘No man cometh into the father, but by me’. See Timothy 2 2:23-26 for guidance.

It's more remarkable when you dig enough into the restoration and find yourself a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Apostasy happened and it happened pretty darn early after the death of the Apostles. A restoration was not only required it was prophesied of in the Bible.
