All future elections in Britain will be decided by sectarian voting. All politics is now identity politics. Either pick a side or lose by default. Zack Polanski's Green Party decisively won last week's Gorton & Denton by-election in Manchester, beating Matt Goodwin and Reform UK by 4,402 votes, and... putting Labour in third place. Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch, and Nigel Farage are all blaming sectarian and family voting because the Greens effectively mobilised the Muslim enclave in Gorton as an ethnic block vote. But Reform engaged in sectarianism too: unsuccessfully courting Muslim, Hindu, and Sikh voters, at the expense of the unrepresented white working class in Denton. No party spoke specifically to the British people, and so the majority stayed at home and didn't vote. You can't complain about sectarianism when you pander to minorities, only less successfully. You can’t represent the British people if you can’t define a British person. You can’t say "This is the last election," if you also insist that demographics aren't destiny. And you can't dismiss critics as "Very Online" if you make your living on Substack. All elections in Britain will be decided by sectarian voting. All politics is identity politics. Both Reform’s Nigel Farage and Labour Prime Minister Keir Starmer have accused the Green Party of engaging in “sectarian” politics after Green candidate Hannah Spencer won the Gorton and Denton by-election last night. But are these claims even remotely accurate? Middle East Eye’s Imran Mulla takes a closer look at the Greens’ campaign, which brought together people from diverse ethnic, class and religious backgrounds around a shared political programme, and explains why it was, in fact, anti-sectarian.

I get that people are backing Restore but in the upcoming elections in May theres no option to vote for them. If you refuse to vote for Reform simply because you don't like Nigel Farage or because they have some candidates that aren't white then chances are the Greens will win. When your town is being run by the Greens they wont stop hotels, hmo's being filled with illegal migrants because they want open borders. You think Labour are bad, the Greens will be even worse. Don't give the Loony Green party the satisfaction of winning simply because you're a Restore supporter. You can still vote Restore in the future but right now our best option is Reform. And stop sharing the fake candidates.... you are supporting a party that is running zero candidates and has zero powers...its childish. By not voting at all you are basically giving a vote to the Greens (the lefty free Palestine, trans rights, open borders, hate israel, hate Trump, islam is the religion of peace crowd)...VOTE REFORM 🩵

“We insist that if you can vote in person you should do unless you have a very good reason not be able to do which is either that you are serving your country abroad or that you are physically unable to vote in person”. When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. In order to tackle the highly localised issue of family voting a Reform Government plans to remove the right of everyone to vote by post. This will have a huge impact on older people and those with disabilities in constituencies where family voting isn’t an issue, not to mention removing the convenience for many others. Voting should be encouraged, not disenfranchised.

Terrible news for Newcastle… The vote split between the greens, Reform and the Lib Dem’s. Labour held a pathetic two seats, they have clearly been rejected by the working class.
