All God's creatures understand hierachy, except us.

It’s actually more amazing the more I watch it. We don’t speak the same language but the communication is, should be, universal. Those two in the middle are double Curly’s size. Black one begins to approach to apply pressure, notices Curly, immediately submits, Brown one knows he wants to put distance between him and whatever is about to happen. These are middle managers. They play at being pack leader. The one that froze against the initial attacker, sees Curly and immediately uses the opportunity to leave. He pauses for a second to see Curly deal with the troublemaker, but he doesn’t gang up or make it worse, he’s out. It’s being handled. People talk of “alpha” behavior but this is truly what it is. These dogs have seen Curly DO big things and those that haven’t know to follow the lead of those who have. If you told me he took down a bear, I would believe it.

his strut through the yard is just majestic

History of the Hissing Curse 1 Kings 9:8 KJV And at this house, which is high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and to this house?

“My kennel. Are we clear?”

notice loudness did not equal strength

that last scene, tenderly placing his paw over the neck of the defeated, we are mammals

I’ve recently stumbled upon chicken hierarchy videos, haha. They understand this pecking order and the duties involved with their rank. It’s fascinating.

haha of course there are pecking order communites, what an internet

We absolutely do understand it. Stress is a natural result of not being able to strangle a person who desperately deserves it.
