We had a leaking transforma at utawala Masters court a week go...AWE REACHED TO KENYA POWER AND PROMISED TO SOUGHT OUT THE ISSUE BY TUESDAY 7/5/2024. THIS WAS NOT RESOLVED. ON REACHING OUT TO THEM AGAIN, THE RESPONSE WAS SO RUDE IN THAT THEY EVEN DONT KNOW WHEN TRANSFORMER

@KenyaPower_Care Kenya power please be responsive to your customers and please pick your phones on the customer care line!!!! A complaint raised last night regarding the wagai area regarding touching live wires subsequent to a storm . The Siaya office is yet to send anyone after over 18 hours!!!

Have you ever seen bright, coloured balloon-like balls high in the sky on our transmission lines and wondered what they were? Aviation warning balls, essential visibility markers, are typically positioned along power lines to enhance the visibility of conductor crossings to flight paths. Placed strategically near airstrips, water bodies, roads, and railways, these huge spherical balls, weighing approximately 7kg each, play a crucial role in ensuring aviation safety and protecting electrical infrastructure. Additionally, they serve as deterrents to birds, minimising the risk of avian interference with the power lines. Recently, heavy rainfall waterlogged warning balls on power lines, affecting our GSU to Magadi 66kV line. This saturation increased the conductor's weight so much that it reduced the allowed clearance between the 66 kV phase-to-phase conductors and ultimately caused power interruption to our customers in Magadi, Kajiado County. To address this, our sub-transmission maintenance team promptly initiated efforts to drain the warning balls, preventing them from sagging further and ensuring customers' swift restoration of power supply. #PoweringKenyans ^OS

⚠️ System Update: All high-voltage lines connecting TVA’s supply of electricity to local power companies have been restored. The last remaining line in Mississippi was returned to service this morning. TVA crews worked in challenging conditions throughout the ice storm response, using both ground and aerial resources to assess damage, complete repairs, and safely restore transmission service. The transmission system is stable and secure, and TVA is positioned to deliver power to meet demand. TVA will continue follow-up work to repair non-critical damage identified during inspections and strengthen system reliability. We remain closely coordinated with local power company partners as they complete repairs to their distribution systems and restore service to remaining customers.

Today, I chaired an administrative meeting to address the alarming flood situation in North Bengal and Murshidabad. My heart goes out to the six precious lives lost in Gajoldoba and Bhutni. We have provided financial aid of ₹5 lakhs and ₹3 lakhs to the families of those electrocuted, and ₹2 lakhs to the families affected by the boat capsize. With Nepal releasing 6 lakh cusecs of water from the Kosi river, we are on high alert. I have instructed our officials to expedite relief work and extend all necessary support to those in distress.
