It's sad. The first time I flew into Atlanta, back in 1996, I looked down and couldn't believe all the trees in such a large city.

Main reason why deers running in the road getting smash is because we keep tearing down there habitats.

If you drive on 75 going south towards Forsyth and Macon, it’s bad. I don’t even recognize it anymore. Even passing McDonough and Locust Grove, I would always watch out for the police hiding between the trees. Not anymore. I don’t know whose idea is it to do this. 😢

There is a lot of clear cutting going on all over the state but I see little to no replanting afterwards. Normally they replant unless it's being developed for residential or commercial use but so much if it just gets left and it looks like a bomb went off. Terrible

That's Cobb right now and I friggin hate it. Seems like every time I go for a drive there's a new patch that's being cleared out. Won't be a damn tree left by the time their done. All for some gaudy townhouses or apartments that'll be ridiculously overpriced.

Most of it is to clear land for builders to create cardboard , small yard , 10 foot apart , cheaply made houses that cost $300k-400k And 300k-400k is alot yes , but does not get you a house like it used to a couple years ago

It’s been nonstop all over Gwinnett. More traffic, more unnecessary apartment complexes, more ugliness, and less nature. We have plenty of commercial area. If they’re going to build, make more densely packed areas for walkable urban space and expand the dang Marta already.

@alpharettagov used to be tree city USA. No more. Takes forever to get a tree permit to cut down a diseased tree, yet I see lots around me with 90% of trees cut down. Big out of state money just paying the fines😡🙄

Yes, It is happening all through the metro area. It is sad and awful. We need trees to breath! For every tree they cut down, they should be required to show where they plant a new one.

Look at what they’re doing up and down all of the interstate. They’re clear cutting all the way back to the fence line. All because of danger to motorist? Really? Think of all the carbon dioxide those trees could have inhaled and all that beautiful oxygen they could’ve exhaled.

That drive from home Greenville,SC to ATL looks so unrecognizable once you get past Commerce now. It’s just empty
