Ppl don't turn on parents for no reason. Abusive parent 101 is to act like a helpless victim. Most of society is smart enough to recognize that a child would NEVER abandon a parent without being overly justified. She needs to take her begging ass back home and leave him alone

Sounds like she taught him how to protect himself and that’s by not having his mom in his life. Where’s the “im sorry.” All I know is what she wants. I’m on his side. Imagine being out of someone’s life for that long then expecting for everything to be normal. Very selfish.

People in the replies kneejerk reaction to support the mother have never known what it’s like to have a relative do something heinous enough to cause someone go no contact. I have personal experience with this. Going no contact was the best decision. Evil can’t be reconciled.

People see a grown son refusing to let his mother in and immediately judge him. What they don’t see are the years of hurt, neglect, or pain that may have led to that moment. Children grow up, but the scars left by a bad parent often grow with them. Not every wound heals with time, and not every relationship can be repaired simply because of blood. Sometimes, protecting your peace means keeping the door closed to the people who taught you what pain feels like.

hell yea good for the kid. We dont know his story. My mother has yet to meet my 6 year old son and I will keep it that way. She abandoned my dad and I(stole millions from him and blew it all) just waiting for the day that she dies so I can finally be at peace

I feel bad for her I really do, but I need a lot more context before I can say whether his arms length distance to her is justified. She could have been abusive, she could have been a drunkard, or worse. She may have already had a second, third, and fourth chance. Some hearts become empty and barren after dealing with manipulation and emotional abuse for so long; Waking up to see your mother steal money out of your wallet to get drunk, watching her obtain her addiction over your little brother and sister eating food for the week, losing your place of living because she’d rather have that addiction instead of paying the rent. So while I feel for her and hope she is doing better to the point where her kids want to see her, just the title of her being a mother is t enough to move me more than “damn that sucks”
