No am saying games especially grand masters can take days also this is still no they are times you might spend 3-5 minutes to think through one move chief.

let me put this in simpler terms before the ban on adjournment you could pause a game and start the game the next day thus allowing games to span 3days+ but after it you couldn’t if you read chess matches in the 90s they did it was in the 2000s this became not possible to occur.

I don't think you've ever played chess. In terms of material exchange it was a net neutral trade. Seems like he was debating whether or not the trade was worth it.

At high level chess, his opponent would have already seen that move as a possibility and knew ahead of time what he was going to do if the trade was initiated. It's pretty common in chess to have periods of inactivity followed by moves in quick succession.
