I got laid off yesterday. Not gonna lie, it's a punch in the gut and I'm not exactly feeling on top of the world. But I really wanted to share this with you all because you're like I really have built a great community of friends on here. Honestly, having this community is what's keeping me going right now. Even on a tough day like today, knowing I have you guys makes it a little easier to pick myself up. So thank you for being here and for giving me a reason to still show up and create.

Rory McIlroy say the Genesis Scottish Open is the blueprint for how to elevate National Opens, but he hopes with the new PGA Tour system that the open nature of the events isn’t effected. “Yeah, so I think since this event has been co-sanctioned, it really has went from strength-to-strength. You look at the quality of the field this week, you get a great sponsor like Genesis on board. They have kept making improvements to the golf course and the facilities each and every year. “So I think for like these strong National Opens, this, to me, is the blueprint of what it can be and what can happen. Yeah, I think this is a perfect -- it's a perfect lead-in to The Open Championship. You know, I've thought could the Canadian Open become co-sanctioned, as well, leading into the U.S. Open as well. Last night the Mr. and I went to the US Women’s National Team vs Japan in Seattle, the city that made Megan Rapinoe famous. On the team was Olivia Moultrie who had to sue the NWSL to fight for the same rights as boys, to play professional sports at 15! As is made clear by Moultrie’s case, sexism is something that women and girls in sports are STILL facing. Despite the disadvantages girls still face on the basis of sex, Rapinoe (who at the height of her career once lost to a boys under 15 team) wants to pull the ladder up after her and allow men and boys to compete in female sports if they claim to have identity issues. There's a new reality settling in youth athletic world ... Early specialization Combined with: Early intensification You got parents pushing their preadolescents' kids into playing and practicing one sport all year round and then, thinking they're getting a leg up, getting them involved in "performance" training at the same time. The problem is the performance training isn't run, hop skip and jump that kids really need, rather it's resembles the training program of a college athlete. We all know what happens with early specialization, but early intensification isn't as prevalent yet. But imagine an athlete never reaching their peak because they skipped right over all the basic training methods and went right into the advanced stuff too soon. What you get is stud youth athlete who fizzles out in so many ways down the road. Kids need need fun. They need movement, they need variety and diversity, and they need to be engaged. They need to run, jump, hop, skip, climb , crawl, and wrestle. Get that right, and you set the kids up for future success whether they're elite or recreational athlete. #LTAD

The Lion and Sun flag dominated the stadium tonight. So FIFA went into overdrive trying to censor it. At the Iran vs. New Zealand World Cup match, the stadium was flooded with Lion and Sun flags and shirts. Not the flag of the Islamic Republic, but the real flag of Iran. It was everywhere. Yet if you watched on TV, you wouldn’t see any of it. The cameras avoided the stands. Crowd shots in the background were blurred. And compared to virtually every other World Cup match so far, there was remarkably little focus on the crowd. Of course, intentional. They can ban the Lion and Sun from stadiums. They can crop it out of broadcasts. They can try to erase it from the world’s view. But they cannot erase the reality that thousands upon thousands of Iranians showed up carrying the symbol of a free Iran. You can censor a flag from a broadcast. You cannot censor an entire nation.

Coming into this season, it was no expectations for this team for real. You look at the standings, they predicted us to be 13th seed or 12th seed in the West. A British family from Liverpool say they feared being attacked at a five star resort in Turkey after a Turkish man screamed at and pushed their twelve year old boy during a row over football. The incident happened on the evening of June 5 when Turkish guests and their children began kicking balls at a group of British kids sitting in a circle at the Kids Club. The twelve year old stepson was hit in the face by a ball threw it back and was then pushed three times by an angry Turkish man who demanded he call his father. The family reported the assault to hotel staff but were told only sexual assault or rape would lead to guests being removed due to cultural differences. CCTV footage showed the Turkish men had behaved aggressively while staff initially wrongly claimed the British children were throwing rubbish and spitting. The family from Liverpool felt paranoid for the rest of their stay and have said they will never return to the resort after the lack of action from management.

The warm reception marked the beginning of Osimhen's loan move from Napoli to Galatasaray, a deal completed after the European transfer window closed. The Turkish side will cover his €10m salary, reportedly paying €8.8m, with a break clause in January for top clubs. Every pontiff is from somewhere, and while I’m happily surprised that our Holy Father grew up in my hometown, at the end of the day, Pope Leo is for all 1.4 billion Catholics in the world.
