Yea, F that work. Set the dirt about a 1/4 below the rubber. Pitchers want a slight point to use the rubber as a push off point.

I had to fix the mound one time in the middle of the game because Roger Clemens had dug such a deep hole. There was someone worse than him but I can't remember his name at the moment. Clemens was a real ditch digger tho

You can't really dig out pro mounds. It's straight up tar or clay or whatever they use now.

A great clay mound like that holds though. Make your slot, and it won’t get much bigger like crappy dirt mounds most are used to

Not shown...the clay bricks right below that surface, great mound, but you do need about ½ inch or a bit more to have a surface to be up against.
