Buttigieg: You meet somebody, you talk to them and you see that the person you’re talking to is not some raging asshole, it’s a fellow American who has a different view of things and often has shared values but doesn’t always have shared facts and that’s where you can point to things, especially if you can find a mutually trusted source of information. Maybe it’s a family doctor rather than the Department of Health and Human Services, maybe some source that they look up facts on, or maybe it’s just that conversation that presents something to them that they’ve never heard. Of course they’re not gonna agree with our message if they’ve never heard it.
