The tool they were looking for was a lever. A heel bar or a 4x2. Wedge it in the gap and use the pier as fulcrum. First or second order.

I thought the crane dropped it there. High water: rudder gets stuck behind that border. They manage to maneuver the ship towards the gap. But in the mean time waterlevel drops further. Sacrificing the rudder blade i.s.o. actuator. They knew the level was still dropping. 🥴
