Absolutely, and as a Kentuckian it’s not good for our overall economy. We need bourbon to do well because it affects so many other businesses (tourism, restaurants, etc).

100% agree! We only have great American whisky because we have great American workers helping create a wonderful product. Anytime someone loses their position due to the market shouldn’t be celebrated.

Agreed, ultimately the human element is traditionally an incredibly important variable in the whiskey world. I would argue more so than most industries where automation has become the standard. But from sawyers to coopers, farmers to lab workers cultivating yeast, and distillers to blenders, one of the best things about whiskey is how many people poured their time and energy into producing the final spirit.

If some brands don’t make bottles atleast somewhat available, people are going to move on eventually. I think it’s hard to take them seriously when we can’t even get it.

You are so right. I do think quality produced and correctly priced Whiskey will survive but it can be tough go for some. I do feel for the people that have been laid off.

That’s really unfortunate. The human element is what I love most about spirits and what sparked my passion for them in the first place. In times like these, the cost or supply of whiskey should be the last thing on people’s minds. Thanks for bringing this behavior to light.
