So this went down early this morning…from about 2:00–5:00 AM, there were nonstop lights from multiple responding units at our neighbor’s house across the street. Our front door camera even caught two of those vehicles with their headlights pointed straight into our bedroom window. At different points, people were in our driveway, most of those responding units were parked in our yard and several people walked right up to our house as you can see in the video I attached. This went on for three solid hours. Weather? Totally clear. No rain, no wind - nothing to muffle the noise or activity happening right outside our window. And guess who never woke up? Not me, not my husband, not my child…not even our two nosy dogs. TWO...not one...TWO. Three. Hours. So please don’t EVER TELL ME AGAIN it’s impossible to understand how the Alberts didn’t wake up on the morning of 1/29/2022.

Episode 7 — After the Yacht Kiss Tossing and turning, unable to sleep, Huiju keeps remembering her kiss with Wan. Driving herself crazy, she kicks at her blankets, making a chaotic mess. Huiju: (Mumbling to herself) It happens. We just got caught up in the moment. Besides, it’s not like I was the one who jumped him, right? She tries to rationalise it, but she knows all too well that this is different from the time by the wall, which hadn't affected her at all. Likewise, Wan is unable to sleep. He places his hand over his fiercely beating heart. He lets out a sudden laugh as he remembers Huiju who had leaned her face against it. Then, all of a sudden, he finds himself missing her. Both Huiju’s face and Huiju’s heart. Wan quietly opens his door, steps out, and heads toward the inner house (anchae: traditionally reserved for women). Huiju, who is still tearing her hair out in frustration, frowns as she senses someone outside her door. But soon follows the sound of a cleared throat, it's Wan. Thinking, 'What is it?', Huiju sits up and silently stares at his shadow. Wan: Seong Huiju. Hearing his cautious voice, Huiju hesitates for a moment. She feels that if she answers now, she'll get swept up in the moment again, just like on the yacht deck. Staring at the room from which no sound is heard, Wan reaches his hand toward the doorknob. They slashed somebody's throat, the violent mob of protesters. Jake Lang -- was brutally attacked. They beat his head in. He almost definitely has a concussion or traumatic brain injury. I pulled up on the corner just as they were beating him up. And then a team of sheriff's deputies stepped in, pulled their less than lethal rifles, and threw the guy in the van. Probably took him to the hospital. He was stumbling around after he got back up. Nine passengers seated in the affected business-class rows (primarily seats in rows involving positions near the damage, such as around rows 8–12 on the right side) were ejected from the aircraft along with their seats and were lost at sea; their bodies were never recovered. How to destroy a booming market. A short post ft. the Haryana excise department. The video is of Sector 29 on a Sunday evening. Shutters down. Shops sitting with no tenants. Half of them had not even bothered to open. This is the same market that once ran a parking mafia. Tickets of 50, 100, sometimes more, just to park. Cars crawling all night. You could not get in. I stood there this Sunday and there was nothing. 10 percent of the old crowd, maybe less. A few years ago this place did not feel like India. At night the whole market was shining. Music, lights, people everywhere, that feeling of standing somewhere abroad for a few hours. Today it is quiet and in shambles. Everyone will tell you the towing killed it. GMDA lifted thousands of cars, Sector 29 topped the list, people got scared and stopped coming. That scared some of them off. The market was already bleeding from somewhere else. That somewhere else opened right next door, with a friendly name. BYOB. Bring your own booze. Sounds like freedom. Except you cannot bring your own booze. A friend lands from abroad, hands you a bottle of scotch from duty free, and they stop you at the door. You get in only if you buy the liquor from their shop. The one attached to the place. So the name is a lie. It is a liquor shop wearing a restaurant costume. Now look at what the licensed bars were carrying. Haryana raises the bar license fee almost every year. A proper brewery or bar in Sector 29 pays that every single year before it pours one glass. The BYOB next door pays none of it. No license. No excise weight. And it still charges food prices as high as the bar it is busy killing. Here is the part that should end the argument. Around 2 years ago some of these BYOB spots quietly built a mezzanine floor over the ground seating to double the covers. No fire safety. No clearance worth the name. And the young crowd never cared about any of this. The BYOBs stay open till 4 in the morning. Live music, belly dance, theme nights, pool parties. Sector 29 with its licenses and its rules and its closing time could not fight a format that had no rules to begin with. Then look at the real estate. Around 3 years ago an SCO here was touching 50 CR. Today those same units are hard to sell. The rent is so high that nobody can run a business that covers it, so the shutter just stays down. You charge the ones who follow the law every single year, you leave the ones who break it completely free, and then you act surprised when the lawful ones are the first to die.

How to destroy a booming market. A short post ft. the Haryana excise department. The video is of Sector 29 on a Sunday evening. Shutters down. Shops sitting with no tenants. Half of them had not even bothered to open. This is the same market that once ran a parking mafia. Tickets of 50, 100, sometimes more, just to park. Cars crawling all night. You could not get in. I stood there this Sunday and there was nothing. 10 percent of the old crowd, maybe less. A few years ago this place did not feel like India. At night the whole market was shining. Music, lights, people everywhere, that feeling of standing somewhere abroad for a few hours. Today it is quiet and in shambles. Everyone will tell you the towing killed it. GMDA lifted thousands of cars, Sector 29 topped the list, people got scared and stopped coming. That scared some of them off. The market was already bleeding from somewhere else. That somewhere else opened right next door, with a friendly name. BYOB. Bring your own booze. Sounds like freedom. Except you cannot bring your own booze. A friend lands from abroad, hands you a bottle of scotch from duty free, and they stop you at the door. You get in only if you buy the liquor from their shop. The one attached to the place. So the name is a lie. It is a liquor shop wearing a restaurant costume. Now look at what the licensed bars were carrying. Haryana raises the bar license fee almost every year. A proper brewery or bar in Sector 29 pays that every single year before it pours one glass. The BYOB next door pays none of it. No license. No excise weight. And it still charges food prices as high as the bar it is busy killing. Here is the part that should end the argument. Around 2 years ago some of these BYOB spots quietly built a mezzanine floor over the ground seating to double the covers. No fire safety. No clearance worth the name. The places breaking every rule got bigger. The places following every rule shut down. The mezzanines were pulled later, but by then the crowd had already moved. And the young crowd never cared about any of this. The BYOBs stay open till 4 in the morning. Live music, belly dance, theme nights, pool parties. Sector 29 with its licenses and its rules and its closing time could not fight a format that had no rules to begin with. Then look at the real estate. Around 3 years ago an SCO here was touching 50 CR. Today those same units are hard to sell. The rent is so high that nobody can run a business that covers it, so the shutter just stays down. The siege of the Home 2 Suites hotel last night and a story of bravery. Courage - The capacity to endure, struggle, and act despite facing extreme danger, pain, or death. 8:46pm: Outside of the Home 2 Suites on University Ave in Minneapolis the first video is posted by and protesters have already blocked the road with trash bins, garbage, and are making a loud racket. Roughly a hundred people are outside of the hotel they believe federal agents are staying at. 9:09pm: Rioters are lighting off fireworks and the crowd is growing. They are blocking traffic and controlling the road. The outside of the building is vandalized, and the crowd is writing, “F*ck ICE" on the windows. 9:19pm: Agitators are attempting to storm the entrance and are met by hotel security. “You got to get out right now.” says a staff member as he tries to lock and bar the doors. Strobe lights, noise makers are constant while the hotel staff pleads with agitators to leave. “All the staff is local, man.” 9:51pm: One lone MPD officer is attempting to assist hotel staff and is barricading the door. Rioters push, shove, and attack the staff to keep the door open. Objects go flying and reporters are hit with glass bottles/ice bottles. “F*ck you!” Rioters scream. It’s at this moment the rioters attack the outside of the building. Ripping signs off, defacing property, hacking at the structure with shovels. Hotel staff continues to be assaulted. Debris is starting to fill the lobby. Shortly after, the first windows are shattered. There is still only one police officer present. Reporter on the ground states, “Doesn’t seem like more police is expected to come.” As the battle for the lobby rages, multiple clashes and confrontations continue.; Roughly 10:52pm. 3 officers from the Bureau of Prisons arrive. Running down the sidewalk tossing tear gas canisters as they charge into the fray. Explosions go off and all BOP officers head for the front doors. “Get out of our city your pieces of sh*t!” screams one rioter. One person approaches the front and yells, “I am not scared of your pu**y ass!” and he’s immediately hit by a bean bag round. “GET BACK!” Shouts the BOP officer. Clouds of gas envelope the scene. The lone officer is bloodied off camera as he guards the entrance while hotel guests are evacuated. Surrounded by 10+ reporters he shouts, “Where is the local PD?! That’s my question to the press. Where is the local PD?” “Please, give me some room. It’s me and 30 people. Please, get back.” One press member offers assistance due to his bleeding. He turns and spits blood onto the ground and maintains his post. “GET BACK!” He bellows to the crowd and provides instructions to his team inside to not bring any guests out the front. Another officer arrives from inside and maintains the post. It is now almost 11:00pm, and there is no sign of back-up. With bloodied hands, he uses his cell phone to make a call. “We need you here.” Roughly 11:04pm the main officer exits the hotel to confront a rioter and an object come in off screen and strikes him in the head. 11:05. More agents can be seen exiting the building and the SRT has arrived in an armored vehicle. A fresh volley of gas canisters is deployed and the scene is cleared. Other officers have arrived and roughly a 100 MPD officers are coming up the road. Mass arrests take place including members of the media. An announcement comes over the speaker system, “This is the Minneapolis Police Department. You are all under arrest. Sit Down.” Muffled explosions continue and more police arrive. It is unknown the condition of the officer who sustained injuries or the amount of arrests. Other reporters documented numerous vehicles being destroyed. These BOP officers charged into danger. They didn’t know the extent of the danger; they didn’t know the size of the crowd; they didn’t care. They rushed to help when help was needed. Courage.
