You feel it all around you. The US empire is in collapse. Elites and institutions are losing legitimacy. Capitalism is eating itself. AI is changing everything. We are living through a major historical transition, and this demands from us strategic and moral clarity.

I've been in the public eye since the 2011 Arab Spring uprisings. Since then, I've endured imprisonment, exile, cyber targeting, hacks, assassination threats. Throughout it all my near-obsessive focus has been the question of liberation.

I've never seen liberation as something any people can achieve in isolation. I've known this especially as a Palestinian, that it's either collective liberation or no liberation at all. We're not free until we're all free, and we're not safe until we're all safe.

For years I've been speaking about systemic cycles, and about the need for us to break out of the rage of the moment and to think more strategically about systems change. I've been frustrated by how most media keep us trapped within the news cycle, unable to see longer arcs.

Over the past year, we've been putting together a media platform that would focus on exactly this: The long arc. Kulna is Arabic for "All of us". It comes from people who have lived & suffered for the struggle. Its overarching focus in collective liberation and systems change.
