His defensive versatility, his offensive versatility. He’s derailed by injuries but people don’t understand how much effort it takes to put so much energy on both sides of the ball. Can easily just focus on offense and focus your energy on offense, but somebody who gives their all on offense and defense has wear and tear on their body. He was derailed by injuries, but in his prime in his peak he’s one of the best two-way players of all-time in my opinion.” On taking that defensive assignment: “Why wouldn’t I? I seek those challenges… Obviously Kawhi is one of the greats, so I wanted to start on him.”

Congrats to Ethan Lund for making his College Baseball debut, and in a HUGE spot. Things weren't perfect for the 6'6 Freshman from Fishers, Indiana, but he flashed some really good stuff from the left side. This dude has great stuff, is super competitive, is already hitting in the 94 range, is 6'6, and has a big future! His coaches showed a lot of confidence in him by putting him in the position he is in today. Valuable experience! #GoPokes #OkState

His ability to read the body language of both his defender and the helping defenders enables him to manipulate the defense and create favorable situations for himself or his teammates. So what does this mean for coaches? The fundamental shift is for coaches to stop being "instructors" who teach techniques (such as the in and out or cross jab between the legs), and instead become "architects of an environment" where solutions can emerge. This is done by creating a game-like environment with constraints, such as a one-on-one situation where the defender must start and stay on the three-point line until the offense gets there, forcing the offense to solve a problem with defense present. The core idea is that when using the constraints-led approach, coaches are architects of a good learning environment, not teachers of techniques.
