Alphabet books teach reading wrong. They focus on letters when kids should be learning sounds. There are 44 sounds in the English language! Kids need to learn all of them but alphabet books only teach 26. So we made a better book and we're giving it away for free.

You can get an electronic copy to print yourself at or buy a hardcover on Amazon for $29.28 (That's literally as cheap as Amazon will let us go, we make no profit on the book. We just want it to reach as many kids as possible.)

In what might be a coincidence: The Hungarian language has 44 letters in the alphabet (all are latin-based). It’s a phonetic language meaning anyone who can read the letters can read any text (words, sentences etc) correctly Always wondered why 44!

That's fascinating! English would be so much easier to read if we were phonetic. Do kids learn faster in Hungarian?

Assuming we could get organized around it, would you support expanding the alphabet to 44 letters and standardizing spelling around it?

I've heard arguments against it, like the fact that English has so many homophones that having differentiated spelling (eg "to", "too", "two") actually makes written English clearer. But overall, yeah, I think it would be net positive to have a simple phonetic written language

This is awesome! I have the digital version but is there a way to get the print one?

Yes! The hardcover is now available on Amazon, we're selling it at cost

Ordered ♥️

Thanks for the support, let me know what you think!

Love it! Just placed an order 😀

That's awesome, we just went live! I haven't even ordered my own copy yet! 🤣
