Also, LUNARK is human-made, frame by frame. No AI involved, just pure dedication and love for the craft. 🥰

The positive response to this post reassures me that people love and appreciate the dedication and hard work that goes into any work of art. GenAI can’t convey that which is why they’re shoving it down our throats, hoping we’ll eventually have no choice but to accept it. 😡

While I respect the effort that goes into drawing art by hand, I see posts like this as virtual signaling. It reduces my interest in your product.

Fair enough. I can get that. Still feel like it’s useful to remind people what dedication is in this time where Gen AI is forced upon us.

I think it's absurd to assume that just because someone uses AI tools that they aren't dedicated. I'd be like saying that a photographer isn't dedicated because they didn't paint their scenes by hand. So, your reply here has only further reduced my interest in your product.

@johanvinet No, a camera doesn't make decisions for you. Pencils don't make decisions for you. Digital paint programs don't make decisions for you. AI DOES make decisions for you. That's a MASSIVE difference.

@johanvinet Modern cameras make various decisions on your behalf. So does digital art software. Your claims here simply aren't consistent with reality. I think you know this, but your judgement is being clouded by your emotions.

@johanvinet I use AI all the time. I know the difference between an actual tool and something that makes decisions for you. Cameras have modes you choose. Pencils have a quality you choose. AI chooses for you by default. It's impossible to know the artists input. 5 seconds, or 5 years?

@johanvinet If my camera performs color correction, it's making decisions on my behalf. The gradient fill function in digital art software is also making decisions on my behalf. Your position here makes no sense.

ROTOSCOPIA

Classic of super nintendo

hand drawn rotorscope is cool

Amazing work that's an instant buy for me ! Congrats to the team. Probably won't play it now since my backlog is... Yea...

Merci beaucoup!

Fuck yeah. My homies and I love rotoscope!🔥🔥🔥

I see you are a fan of Flashback.

Rotoscoping in video game, very interesting concept not done much these days 98% of games that could rotoscope just use mocap

so, spend ten times more instead of using the most optimised tool for the same output is a badge of honour for this guys lol such a idiotic idea.

Let me guess your inspiration:

Dude, that's really cool. More developers should use the making-of in their marketing, because it's both very inspiring and creates an additional reason to play the game, to see the final result. This is how you build a community around your game, letting people be more involved.

HOLY SHIT I KNOW THOSE ANIMATIONS, THIS IS BASED ON FLASHBACK AND ANOTHER WORLD LETS FUCKIN GO DUDE THAT WAS MY CHILDHOOD

Good old rotoscope 🎞️

I love that "No AI" is a selling point in this age lol And it works on me! I'll be sure to check it out!

🥰Thank you so much folks! If you want to support me further, here's my micro game Castaway, also 60% OFF during Spring Sale:

Such Another World vibes, I love it

You can smell the Prince of Persia inspiration. Looking great!!

Please tell me you live in an apartment, I can just imagine the neighbors as you jumped around. 😂

Reminds me of games like Flashback. You've nailed the 90s adventure game feel.

THAT'S WHAT WE NEED (I mean no AI bullshit in games)

I love rotoscoped pixel art, I wish more games did this

Were the tiny sprites used for gameplay rotoscoped too? 😜

Some of them yes!

Ok, I did not ACTUALLY expect this to be the case 😳

Peak!

Pixel art rotoscope

rotoscoping pixel art jeez. i do not envy that task, thats impressive

It's sad that we live in an era where artists always have to say "No AI was involved" whenever they make real art.

Sold, and am downloading the Castaway package now. The gameplay footage and level design look like a more ambitious version of Yahtzee's 1213 games, which isn't an itch that gets scratched often enough.

Flashback/Another World vibes… I love it!!!

AHUEVO ROTOSCOPIA !!

Gorgeous
