Also this highlights a really important point. Many people play with conflicting or outdated mods/CC without even realising it (as some authors don’t do regular updates). While going Cold Turkey isn’t for everyone, it highlights how drastically the game experience can change.

As someone who’s been playing on PS5 every other day at this point, running into some kind of bug is very occasional and often not front of mind for me. There are bugs that need to be fixed, but as a whole experience, it’s been a very stable and reliable experience 🤷🏻♂️

This is a very great point. With that said… I’m actually convinced that some players just plop the mods in, and expect them to function properly forever. However, they lack the ability to realize that with this comes the additional responsibility (on their part, and no one else’s) to ensure that they’re always as updated as can be.

It's a complicated issue. Having too many mods without good management can be a problem. But the game itself is still a problem due to the devastating amount of bugs it still has that need to be fixed. Next update should be huge, maybe the biggest in terms of fixes.

Patches getting too big aren’t really ideal either because if becomes more difficult to cross manage and leads to needing the hotfixes issues when there’s too many variables to test. I think consistent good sized updates is best that can be tested in a reasonable fashion is good

i played sims 4 raw up until like 3 years ago because i was too lazy to download mods and cc. still had a bunch hours on the game. but i don’t think i’ll ever be able to go back. (i don’t have too many mods either)

It’s all about the balance! It’s good to know whether your mods are regularly updated, what conflicts they have etc. When you lose sight of that, it’s where issues arise.

I'd argue that at least half the people complaining about bugs (if not more) have broken or conflicting mods. I use FB and I'm in a Sims group on there and probably about 75% of the time someone complains about a bug it's cuz they either are playing with broken/outdated mods,

it always surprises me to hear how often a lot of ppl encounter bugs. bc i do use mods but i maintain them often and i rarely run into any issues

Only mods I really use is MCcomand center, UI cheats, more columns and a mod to let you dress servos however you want. The rest is all clothing CC and my game works wonderfully, never had any event break on me.

I’ve gone cold turkey for the events and have only introduced a few mods after the event, like MCCC, to my Reaper event save to fix bugs that have come up, like the genetics bug. The game IS fun without mods.

#YOUNGJAE: i still can’t bring myself to throw away coco's things, it’s driving me crazy. i really don’t know how people who’ve gone through this kind of experience deal with it. i still have coco's first cage, car seat, and all that stuff in my truck. everyone says i should just throw them away or get rid of them, but seriously… how can i do that? how do others even do it?
