Stop complaining about GTA 6’s graphics. It doesn't look washed out or similar to GTA 5. The game looks phenomenal, miles ahead of GTA 5 and a massive step up from RDR2. If you only saw the gameplay on Twitter, they looked washed out because Twitter compresses video and doesn't support HDR. Once you see actual gameplay footage in HDR, you'll be blown away by how amazing it looks.

It follows hero Conrad Hart, awakened from cryogenic sleep in an alien prison on the Moon. You have to explore, fight, solve puzzles, and navigate a sci-fi conspiracy in a fully 3D polygonal world. Back in the day, it felt revolutionary with smooth 3D graphics, dynamic camera angles, and a perfect blend of shooting, platforming, and adventure way before Tomb Raider took the crown. Story, atmosphere, pace, graphics, sound effects - it was the whole package. In 1995, this was a real masterclass.

Carrier Command (1988), developed by Realtime Games and published by Rainbird, blends RTS and simulation elements. You command the aircraft carrier ACC Epsilon in a future war to colonize a 64-island archipelago before a rival carrier does the same. You can attack by air (Manta) or land (Walrus) and drop command centres on neutral islands. The game switches between fleet management and direct vehicle control. The filled-polygon graphics (epic for the time!) and tactical elements made it one of the earliest true RTS games. It received excellent reviews, often in the high 90% range. A sequel, Battle Command, followed two years later.

You control a World War I plane in an isometric view (those of you who played Zaxxon will feel familiar with the perspective), flying over rivers, roads, and enemy territory. The goal is to bomb ground targets, strafe enemies, and ultimately destroy the enemy headquarters while surviving anti-aircraft fire and dogfights. For 1983 the graphics were absoluetly top notch, and so were the music and effects. Isometric perspectives were not common for early 80s games, and the altitude and timing when you dropped the bombs really mattered. Another one of those early 80s games that were developed by a single person - Polin created the original Atari version, Adams did the C64 port - I find that remarkable. Speaking of remarkable: The game's total size was 20 KB, less than an average desktop icon on your PC.
